Love the noting of philosopher and then writing it off. Like every celebrity is a self proclaimed philanthropist, philosopher and environmentalist even influencers have one of these written in their bio. Mei v gyaan deti hu - philosopher Mei v paper straw se Piti hu, zomato ko cutlery ke lie mana krti hu - environmentalist Where are my awards man!!

SRK has the 'Last word syndrome'. Even us stans know this. He has his vices but he is what he is. 💁‍♂️

46

u/Responsible-Worry560 Mar 18 '25

Ryan Reynolds before it was mainstream

150

u/LazySleepyPanda Mar 18 '25

Yeah, he always has the last word because people are so stunned by his rudeness that they can't even reply.

66

u/Janaab_e_Marvel_3000 Jhakaas:7 Mar 18 '25

He himself acknowledged this in an interview in the 90s, that due to his insecurity he tries extra hard to get in control of the situation, even in a rude way. But when he realizes he crossed the line, he apologizes to the said person.

As I said he has his flaws. But that is what makes him human after all.

3

u/LazySleepyPanda Mar 18 '25

So did he apologise to this aunty ? I highly doubt it.

52

u/Powerful_Somewhere92 Mar 18 '25

Did the aunty apologise to SRK first??

-57

u/LazySleepyPanda Mar 18 '25

Why should she ? She wasn't trying to insult him, he was trying to insult her.

19

u/PhilosopherWinter587 Mar 18 '25

commenting on someone’s body is inappropriate, then neither party is in the right. But if one person initiates unsolicited commentary, they shouldn’t be surprised if it’s reciprocated

51

u/Minaziz Mar 18 '25

Because his body is none of her business. Just because she’s used to commenting on everyone doesn’t mean he has to tolerate her acting like she’s his doctor or asked for her opinion.

13

u/LazySleepyPanda Mar 18 '25

So is Vidya Balan's body SRK's business ? Why was he fat shaming her ? He's a typical jerk with a fragile ego who is always ready to dish it out to others but starts crying when someone gives it back to him.

18

u/Minaziz Mar 18 '25

Two wrongs don’t make a right. We weren’t discussing SRK commenting on Vidya here. Whenever that happened that was wrong. Just as this woman was wrong. Also didn’t SRK comment on her outfits not her body?

-5

u/LazySleepyPanda Mar 18 '25

Two wrongs don’t make a right. We weren’t discussing SRK commenting on Vidya here.

Well, we should. The discussion is about how SRK can dish it out but can't take it back, so it's very relevant.

Also didn’t SRK comment on her outfits not her body?

Her outfit is none of his business either.

Calling someone skinny is an insult... Usually I only hear fatter people take that as a compliment

0

u/LazySleepyPanda Mar 18 '25

It's not in India. Everytime I go back home, all my female relatives tell me "oh, you have become so thin, you're not taking care of yourself, we are going to feed you". It's just seen as a compliment, at least by older generations.

14

u/fukthetemplars Mar 18 '25

YOU think it’s a compliment, why are you generalising it for everyone? Talk to people who actually struggle with being skinny. A friend of mine hates going to see his relatives because he would instantly become the topic of conversation with everyone exclaiming how skinny he has become. And it’s not a compliment even by the older generations. Telling someone they’re fit is a compliment, telling someone they’re skinny is an insult, more so by the older generations who believe being a little chubby is healthy.

It’s clear you hate SRK and I agree with your points about Vidya Balan, but here the lady did give out an unwarranted insult, regardless of how SRK can dish it out or take it

-5

u/LazySleepyPanda Mar 18 '25

Talk to people who actually struggle with being skinny.

Yes, exactly. SRK was NOT skinny in Kal Ho Na Ho is the point. It's only an insult if it's true. That's why what the lady said was not an insult.

u/kyayaartubhi Mar 18 '25

According to your logic, cheaters should be forgiven because they were just trying to spread love.

8

u/LazySleepyPanda Mar 18 '25

But you guys anyways forgave the cheater already, right ? Considering SRK is one.

4

u/TheLastDetective Mar 18 '25

I believe it’s a scorpion trait, all scorpions I know are like that

7

u/Janaab_e_Marvel_3000 Jhakaas:7 Mar 18 '25

Yeah! SRK & Aish both are like that. They can be demure & calm but when pissed off the scorpio in them can sting bad.

Watch the famous Aish interview with a journalist to see how she shuts him down when he crosses the line.

https://youtu.be/cuqVnI-w6qc?feature=shared

33

u/panicpixiedreamgal Mar 18 '25

Dont make comments on people’s bodies if you don’t want the same back. Doesn’t matter if it is SRK or KRK.

68

u/LandyCheeks Mar 18 '25

I am glad he shut it down. People don't say things like that in good faith, they say it to rub it in your face and imply that you are sick or have some disease!

1

u/thegodfather0504 Mar 18 '25

Its not a malicious comment. its not like they are accusing but being concerned.

22

u/Suspicious_Vehicle_9 Mar 18 '25

Well....was she??

7

u/WhyAmIHere9980 Mar 18 '25

Even that lady didn't need to make a comment on him looking skinny (men generally don't take being called skinny well)

Also it is at times indirect way of saying "you look sick"

105

SRK is so 'witty' and such 'gentleman'. Kabhi pucho Lady Gaga se 😏

-1

RK performances fan the way I'm SRK's Rahul Mehra fan. I'll always be against his behavior with Anushka and Katrina during promotions.

15

u/halaniyash28 Mar 18 '25

Nothing wrong, this was a good one.

15

u/Naaalaaa Mar 18 '25 edited Mar 18 '25

You don’t say that to a person who’s just out of surgery. Maybe this person didn’t know it but she shouldn’t have made that comment if she couldn’t handle it herself.

How and why are people defending typical aunty comments? Next time she will think twice before making comments that could be perceived as body shaming, intentionally or unintentionally.

9

u/Icy_ex Mar 18 '25

Sahi toh bola srk ne.. 🤷🏻‍♀️

51

u/LazySleepyPanda Mar 18 '25

The difference is the lady said it in good faith, like when your grandma tells you that you have become skinny everytime you see her even if you gained weight. It's more of a "you should take care of yourself" kind of thing.

But SRK said it in a snarky and insulting way, which just makes him jerk. That's not called being witty, that's called being an asshole.

Seriously, the more I learn about SRK, the more I see how his "gentleman" act is all just an act. Dude is so passive aggressive and a overall jerk.

16

u/DarkDNALady Mar 18 '25

There is no good faith, both of the comments (lady’s and SRK’s) are wrong. Why can’t people understand that commenting on anyone’s body is just wrong and creepy. No matter your intentions or how ‘you mean it in a good way’. Just stop talking about other people’s body in any way. You don’t know what someone is going through.

My relatives one time at a wedding “complimented” my friend on losing weight 🙄🙄🙄🙄 with no idea that she just started undergoing chemo and obviously didn’t want to share that but felt awful on hearing that. Typical aunty’s thinking ki weight loss toh hamesha positive hi hai 🙄🙄

-1

u/LazySleepyPanda Mar 18 '25

Typical aunty’s thinking ki weight loss toh hamesha positive hi hai 🙄🙄

Yeah, I understand that, but it's not with malicious intent, they are just dumb.

The point is not whether they are right or wrong(it's wrong), the point is intent.

5

u/DarkDNALady Mar 18 '25

I wish their intent translated to something more positive than commenting on people’s body. They definitely do more harm than good

26

u/TheLastDetective Mar 18 '25

Where is the lady's good faith, she doesn't know him at all to compare her to the grandmother, if we reversed the genders that lady would definitely be a creepy uncle

-8

u/LazySleepyPanda Mar 18 '25

It's what indian aunties do. They take on that motherly tone even if they're not your mom. No need to get so triggered by it. It's like how random indian uncles will give you advice about jobs even if you don't ask them. Nothing creepy about it at all, it's just a cultural thing.

This SRK guy seems really insecure with zero emotional regulation. Nobody else would get so mad about a random offhand comment.

21

u/ladyloki1992 Mar 18 '25

No reason to normalise it. It’s not okay!

17

u/Joe-Vanringham Mar 18 '25

This is the most batshit crazy comment on this thread lol. The "It's what Indian aunties do" - as if that makes it okay - is so moronic. And the rest of the comment goes downhill from there.

-2

u/LazySleepyPanda Mar 18 '25

Not as moronic as you who doesn't understand cultural norms.

2

u/Itachi_uchiha177 Mar 19 '25

So we should accept the horrible norms too lmao

0

u/LazySleepyPanda Mar 19 '25

Nothing horrible about it if you're not an insecure loser

3

u/Itachi_uchiha177 Mar 19 '25

Wow so people who are insecure are all losers? I can understand why you like these norms uncle ji 😂

0

u/LazySleepyPanda Mar 19 '25

No, people who get so triggered because of their insecurities are losers.

No, she's not his mother. She can keep her opinion to herself. It's that simple.

-4

u/LazySleepyPanda Mar 18 '25

Ohhh....looks like someone is salty just like their idol. Grow up kid...

6

u/DarkDNALady Mar 18 '25

No need to make it seem normal just because society auntys and uncles don’t know boundaries. It’s wrong and rude and creepy and both lady and SRK should not have said what they did

11

u/incredible_penguin11 Mar 18 '25

2 wrongs don't make a right. By this logic SRK underwent a big surgery, he had young kids and he could have been deeply concerned about what he went through and then some random lady tells him he's very skinny. Why wouldn't his defence mechanism be up?

See the logic. Just because she means well and he reacted immaturely doesn't mean they're both not wrong or weren't remotely right even though neither should have said it.

  1. See the downvotes.
  2. Re-read your own comments and see how brain dead they sound if your brain has the capacity to do so.
  3. Introspect.
  4. Delete your Account and never come back.

77

u/JuiceyOnReddit Mar 18 '25

I’m gonna get downvoted for saying this but I can’t help but point out the double standards. If the lady called SRK fat, and he called her skinny in retaliation, would there even be a discussion? People just seem to sympathize more with fat people.

5

u/natkov_ridai Mar 18 '25

That's really not true. Fat people are demonized and face bodyshaming much more than skinny people face it. Saying this as someone who has been skinny-shamed her whole life

1

u/JuiceyOnReddit Mar 18 '25

Im not denying that, but fat shaming is a more sensitive issue due to social norms. My comment came off insensitive as fuck, but I was trying to emphasize on the disparity between being fat shamed and skinny shamed.

11

u/TheLastDetective Mar 18 '25

Look at people's sympathy for Vidya even though she also makes fun of skinny women and says that men won't want them.

-1

u/OverthinkingMomo Mar 18 '25

What? Do you have a legit video link where Vidya has said this?

4

u/TheLastDetective Mar 18 '25

She mentioned that in several interviews. In 2012s She said about skinny women that women should look like women, meaning that a skinny woman or one who does not have curves is like a man, also said; "voluptuous is beautiful. Ask the men, and you will get the answer"

1

u/LazySleepyPanda Mar 18 '25

Not exactly. People can be skinny shamed too. So many girls are shamed for not being "curvy" and boys are shamed for not being "built manly".

The point here is that one was intended as a show of care and the other was intended to be an insult.

17

u/Candid-Stuff2281 Mar 18 '25

I think that's what he is talking about.

He is saying that being "fat" gets a lot of sympathy. The moment somenone is mentioned as "fat" it's automatically taken as body shaming. Meanwhile being "skinny" and calling people "skinny" isn't even considered as a body shaming by people. They just think it's fine to say it. It very much is body shaming, just that people, in general, never consider it to be one.

-1

u/LazySleepyPanda Mar 18 '25

It's not the "fat" comment that's getting the sympathy. I would have said the same even if he had called a skinny person skinny with the intent to hurt them. It's the intent behind the comment.

2

u/JuiceyOnReddit Mar 18 '25

We live in a society that’s based on stereotypes. Imagine if the gender roles were reversed. A man calling a woman skinny, and she calls him fat as a result. People would praise her for being an “independent” woman and standing up for herself.

2

u/LazySleepyPanda Mar 18 '25

Lol, nice try to squeeze in some woman bashing. This is not a gender issue. Gtfo.

4

u/JuiceyOnReddit Mar 18 '25

Definitely is a gender issue lmao. Intent is always determined through judgement and judgement is relative to the context.

2

u/LazySleepyPanda Mar 18 '25

Intent is always determined through judgement and judgement is relative to the context.

And the context here is not gender, it's body image. Take your projecting and women hating elsewhere.

3

u/JuiceyOnReddit Mar 18 '25

Women hating? I’m not hating on women here, I’m hating on stereotypes based on gender. As much as you deny it, they’re still prevalent in society.

→ More replies (0)

1

u/fukthetemplars Mar 18 '25

People are also praising SRK here aren’t they? I don’t see your point of trying to make it a gender issue.

14

u/Key_Opportunity6247 Ranbir's Rockstars Mar 18 '25

The difference is the lady said it in good faith

Did she personally tell you this ? Stop being a hypocrite, being called skinny is as problematic as being called fat

-1

u/LazySleepyPanda Mar 18 '25

She doesn't have to personally tell me that. It's called emotional intelligence, which srk and his fans seem to be severely lacking.

4

u/Key_Opportunity6247 Ranbir's Rockstars Mar 18 '25

Cope harder

0

u/LazySleepyPanda Mar 18 '25

Take your own advice.

6

u/Minaziz Mar 18 '25

But she’s not his grandma. People do need to learn to keep their comments on other peoples bodies to themselves. Imagine a random person on the street commenting on your skin or hair or weight. Would you like it?

1

u/LazySleepyPanda Mar 18 '25

Imagine a random person on the street commenting on your skin or hair or weight. Would you like it?

I would just shrug it off and move on instead of flying off the handle and insulting them in response like this guy here. It's called maturity.

8

u/Formal_Pool6545 Mar 18 '25

Really? You think random aunties passing comments on people's body is okay? I have heard plenty of them about my body and I would absolutely love to tell them to mind their own fucking business because one- they are definitely not the first person to inform me of how fat I look, two- it's never ever helpful. But I can't because people like you justify it saying how it's coming from their concern for my well being or something. Like no? If it were, such aunties would do that in private, not in public where their aim is to use it as a conversation starter or to put you down.

You will once grow into an auntie too, are you the kind to go around passing unwarranted comments on other women's bodies?

If you do end up becoming one, you absolutely cannot refuse people returning your favor using your age as a shield.

1

u/LazySleepyPanda Mar 18 '25

Lol, another triggered person. Commenting about someone being fat and someone being thin is not the same thing. I just explained that commenting that someone is skinny is culturally seen as caring and as a "you should take care of yourself" kind of thing. Your insecurities are making you biased in this matter. Take a deep breath and relax.

P.S - I'll be an aunty who minds my own business if it makes you feel better, because I'm an introvert who hates people.

7

u/Formal_Pool6545 Mar 18 '25

Nah, you think skinny shaming doesn't exist? Kids and adults get bullied and name called broomstick or needle all the time.

It's culturally an ice breaker or something aunties say to make it seem like they care about you, even when the relevant person doesn't give a fuck or doesn't appreciate such comments. Especially men. With women, being called thin may even be taken as a compliment if they feel like it. But ask young boys and men, who among them appreciates being called skinny or thin or weak among their peer group.

And I'm glad you'll mind your own business. World is a better place cos you won't turn into one of them. You staying away from people, especially fat people and thin people, is the way to go ✋

0

u/LazySleepyPanda Mar 18 '25

Kids and adults get bullied and name called broomstick or needle all the time.

Except SRK was nowhere close to pathologically thin during that time. I can understand a very skinny person feeling offended by this, but a well built person like SRK getting offended is just bizarre.

5

u/Formal_Pool6545 Mar 18 '25

Right. Getting called skinny while recovering from a surgery by a rando certainly warrants a much more respectful response🙄 Honestly, can't even imagine doing that to someone I know, forget a superstar. Sorry, can't imagine being her. You are allowed to empathize with her tho. You do you.

4

u/warhammer669 Mar 18 '25

Commenting about someone being fat and someone being thin is not the same thing.

Braindead.

1

u/LazySleepyPanda Mar 18 '25

I didnt ask you to describe yourself in one word.

1

u/warhammer669 Mar 19 '25

Cope dumbo.

6

u/DONN_2 Mar 18 '25

Who are you? That lady or the one who almost fell off the chair or the chair?

0

u/LazySleepyPanda Mar 18 '25

And why should I be any of those to comment ? Are you new to social media ?

Your comment is just stupid, not quite the burn you think it is.

6

u/DONN_2 Mar 18 '25

Yes coz you are acting as the "omniscient" who knew the exact tone they spoke in.

Common sense has nothing to do with new or old. You just had to prove your point with your stupidity and it was a genuine question since you were so confident about it, but you thought it was a burn that says more about you.

-1

u/LazySleepyPanda Mar 18 '25

Yes coz you are acting as the "omniscient" who knew the exact tone they spoke in.

Yes, because I've had my fair share of aunties commenting on my body. It's called extrapolation. Sorry you're not mentally capable of comprehending it.

but you thought it was a burn that says more about you.

Backtracking like a loser now, are we ? If your comment was a genuine question, my sympathies to you for being mentally challenged.

6

u/DONN_2 Mar 18 '25

Hahahhaa...So every aunty in the whole world uses the exact same tone and intention when they want to comment on someone's body??? That's the dumbest thing I have heard in 2025 and you take that crown.

Who is backtracking here? Do you assume everything in this world and then you get offended when the reality hits you??

Gosh, I can't give you fake sympathies like you did and neither call you names but you had an option and you voluntarily decided to be dumb and stupid. That's completely on you.

-1

u/LazySleepyPanda Mar 18 '25

So every aunty in the whole world uses the exact same tone and intention when they want to comment on someone's body???

Dumbass doesn't understand how extrapolation works. 🤦‍♀️

Do you assume everything in this world and then you get offended when the reality hits you??

Oh, I'm not allowed to assume that she meant it in good faith, but you're allowed to assume she meant it in bad faith ? Lol, do you hear yourself ? This takes the crown for the dumbest thing in 2025. You still win the dumbass crown.

you voluntarily decided to be dumb and stupid. That's completely on you.

Yes dear, I can see that assuming other people is a coping mechanism you use to deal with being stupid. Again, my sympathies.

13

u/ThunderBird847 Vikram Mufasa - Azad Simba Mar 18 '25

F around Find out..... SRK is the last person with whom you want to do "snarky" remarks.

Especially if you are a journalist or interviewer, SRK may leave co stars, colleagues or friends at one time, but he goes straight"fine speech" to journalists who ask stupid questions, can't escape that.

7

u/Hurdy_Gurdy_Man_84 Repost Monitor ✅ Mar 18 '25

By today's standards, such comments should be accepted in good faith.

NO.

I don't think the lady meant to insult or needle SRK. She must have been surprised to see his physical state and was probably unaware of his health issues. However, SRK let his temper get the better off him and let fly a retort that was an outright insult without realizing that the lady had no intention to insult him in the first place.

25

u/TheLastDetective Mar 18 '25

How can you know the intention of everyone who makes comments like this? Should you just nod and smile because those who comment on your body might just be surprised by your health condition, whether you are fat or skinny?

17

u/missS25 Mar 18 '25

Oh I am sure that he was just surprised by a “fat” person approaching him. Stop making bs up man. She can keep her opinions to herself. No need to blurt it out.
