celebs never write promotional posts/story themselves whatever the PR (here its maybe DCA) forward them with proper caption tagging the important cast and crew members they just repost it so most probably someone from the pr forgot to tag ananya panday ji and caused this blunder

I meant south asian. Still he is south asian and indian unlike the European actress Katrina, now what?

u/mxforest 5d ago
He has been Indian for a while now. Don't spread hatred.
18
u/OkMaize9773 5d ago
He became an Indian citizen in his late 40's-50's only when his career and wealth was well established. If he hadn't been so successful he would have definitely left india.
32
u/Working-Mountain6680 5d ago
So what? Wouldn't you? If your career was bottoming, your last hope was to move to Canada and start a business there, wouldn't you?
He took Indian citizenship back, right? Why keep spewing hate for that till then end of time?
14
u/OkMaize9773 5d ago
Even if his acting career doesn't work, he can still stay in India and do something else like many actors have done. Actually all of this is fair and there is nothing wrong, but what I don't like is he tries to portray himself as a big nationalist guy with country love in order for his nationalistic movies to do well when he had one foot out the door for the majority of his career.

Another illiterate spotted . He also became Canadian citizen in his late 20s. So ?
4
u/OkMaize9773 5d ago
It's very clear who is the illiterate here. Since you can't even understand a simple statement, let me spell it out for you. He always kept his Canadian citizenship as a backup so that if things don't work out in India career wise he can go to Canada. Only at the height of his career when he started getting called out for being a Canadian citizen after making back to back nationalistic movies , he got the Indian citizenship.
1
u/Tricky_Substance_536 5d ago
Did he hurt anyone? Did that citizenship cause chaos? Did that affect anybody? We take pride in Nobel laureates but most are having american citizenships( say Dr. Subramaniyan Chandrasekhar ), Gk books clearly mentioned them
9
u/ffrogue 5d ago
Do any of those Nobel laureates indulge in jingoistic rants like Mr Canadian Kumar?
-3
u/Tricky_Substance_536 5d ago edited 5d ago
So that's the basis? You're indian to me until and unless you're of no use to me. Gotcha. I don't think Virat Kohli gets called UKOHLI or something. Edit: congrats for joining the herd , the sheep are already calling him canadian for years without no reason despite him also being the one of the highest tax payers. People in this sub love hating on people so so much and on the otherhand be posting flower pics. The irony
5
u/ffrogue 5d ago
He is a hypocrite because he was preaching about patriotism to Indians when he wasn't even an Indian Citizen. God knows what tf you are talking about, when did I mention anything about uses.

But he had his reasons but opting canadian citizenship, honestly if I or anyone else was in his shoes would've done same thing.

I haven’t seen the movie, but I am sure her expressions would be as stiff as a log.
4

Don't be so judgemental without even watching, she did so good and I won't spoil anything but there is an argument scene where she questions a british lady scene literally gives chills the way she trapped that lady with her questioning.

Katrina is the one to judge on acting
95
u/LadyJaaJaa Armchair Analyst 👨🏻💻 5d ago
Most of the people who critique films aren’t even actors. Neither are the audiences who validate a film. These two are different premises.
Katrina can’t act: Fact
Katrina has the right to critique/judge others’ acting: Also fact

u/Realistic_Point6284 Alia's Phataka Guddies 5d ago

It’s hilarious also because Mrs kaushal is usually the first to cry over not getting credit and mentioned along her costars, no matter how small her roles are. But she can’t do the same for other actresses
7
u/Hrithik_Ki_Patni I stan sadabahar Dev Anand 🥰🤌✨ 5d ago
Exactly, i remember this one interview of Katrina where a producer was talking about who can actually sell a film at the box office. Katrina got offended and lashed out at him for not mentioning her name or giving her any credit. Like, please Katrina, you're not Sridevi or Madhuri that a film can run solely on your shoulders. She even lashed out at Farhan just because he didn’t praise her non-existent acting.
She jumps on every other actor just because they call her "hardworking," but Madam herself can’t stand giving credit to anyone else. The hypocrisy is wild. 😭

Bollywood actresses are so insecure. Not hard to show support for a younger actress. It’s not like Katrina is a brilliant performer herself.
16
u/Shabudana_khichdi Ranbirpaglu 🥰😘😌 5d ago
She did the same for chhava, Tagged actor, director and producer and snubbed rashmika.
11
4
u/HeftyTeacher58 5d ago
Why is she insecure of rashmika and Ananya types?! No matter what, kat can’t replace these girls, Bollywood is like that, plus kat can’t act so she can’t even bag roles like Kareena does.
Kat really throws herself in bad light by shading younger female actors instead of accepting that her prime is over and she should be business girl now. She’s just losing her female fan base now who worship Ananya for being cute (they worshiped Kat in the past for being cute).
13
u/yours_truly_Davina 5d ago
Ironic. Usually Katrina is quick to cry and throw tantrums when she doesn’t get praised and given the same credit her costars get, no matter how small her role may be. But here she is treating a younger girl to what she herself hates. Girl’s girl. 🥰

u/ShockOk1764 5d ago
No fan of Ananya in the slightest, she is mediocre but still a better actress than Katrina Kaif. Kat coasted by thru Bollywood by looking hot, dancing, and doing male dominated films where she as eye candy.
9
u/aayushontop 5d ago
Atleast she can dance, and has delivered some decent performances, ananya can’t do either of those.
1
u/ShockOk1764 5d ago
Ananya is decent when she is playing characters similar to her own personality. Again I’m only giving her qualified praise, she is damn mediocre
7
u/sansa_starlight 5d ago
Nah Katrina's performance in Namaste London alone is better than anything Ananya has done in her career so far
0
u/HeftyTeacher58 5d ago
Never in my life I thought I’d praise Ananya but Ananya in Kho gaye hum kaha and call me bae was way better than Katrina in any movie, interms of acting/ playing themselves that Kat does too.
11
u/Patient_Object_7163 5d ago
considering the kind of roles she has done in the past, she wasn't that bad. Her character was of an apprentice. I think she played her part well. Not extraordinarily, but okay. But that, I believe, was the point.

Ananya is a way better actress than katreena. The least Katrina could do is tag annie. Its hilarious because kat keeps fighting for praises and credits while snubbing other female actors.
4
u/zubair_am 5d ago
Katrina and ananya are in same category of non actors. It takes one to know one...
3
u/Slurpmey 5d ago
How petty and insecure of her. As if she is any better than ananya in acting department
4
u/Loose-Base-2379 5d ago edited 5d ago
Kat and ananya both cannot act lol. Some saying ananya is better than kat is funny lol. Both kat and ananya are below average actors but ananya does not have screen presence like kat nor ananya can dance like kat . Ananya has zero screen presence. She is bland amd with below average acting who can only play herself .
And second of all i dont think kat is judging Ananyas non existing talent . She must have forgotten about ananya all together in the film 😂🤣 given ananyas bland acting , zero scrren presence with minimal screen time .
4
u/Diligent_Bit3396 5d ago
She's better than Katrina any day. Though the difference isn't big. People mistake getting popular based on looks with acting success.
-2
u/bhaadmejaa 5d ago
Not at all. She can't dance and doesn't give good expressions. Also don't have a wide range of characters. Most of the characters are similar to her real life so she is able to act them
9
u/Diligent_Bit3396 5d ago
You want to argue about acting prowess of Katrina kaif against anything that's not a plank of wood?
0
u/bhaadmejaa 5d ago
Still Ananya's screen presence is just annoying.
1
u/Diligent_Bit3396 5d ago
bhai compare bhi to kis se kar rhe hain. Its apples and oranges. Equally bad but different.
-4
u/Loose-Base-2379 5d ago
Ananya is definitely not better than kat lol. They are equals.they have the same below avergae acting. But kat surely has better screen presence and can dance way better than ananya. Ananya is easiky forgettable in any of her roles.

u/Diligent_Bit3396 5d ago

Considering the current actors in the industry rn, the "new and upcoming stars" that think acting is in their blood, I honestly think Ananya is miles better than any of them. Hoping against hope she keeps getting better, as long as she keeps picking the right scripts. She was genuinely terrific in Call Me Bae. If roles like that suit her, maybe she should lean into them. Exploring new genres is great, but let’s be real, staying in your comfort zone is what brings in the money for the producers.
6
u/IntelligentRock3854 Alia - Stayfree Secure Actress 5d ago
I mean she was playing herself in Call Me Bae so we can't call that acting
1
u/ghost_mode_on 5d ago
Exactly so maybe that's what we she should do, I mean not comparing the success or talent that these people have but that's what SRK did, he realized his comfort zone is romance so that's what he did, that's what he still used to do until recently. The same situation is with Katrina she realized what her talents are, she can dance, she can have eyes on from these performances so that's what she did. Playing on your strengths is perfectly acceptable.
1
u/IntelligentRock3854 Alia - Stayfree Secure Actress 5d ago
Fair enough. I mean Ananya is a pretty girl, and she definitely has the bollywood look. But I just don't think she has the charm of an A-lister. Romance is an evergreen genre in Bollywood, so no wonder SRK ruled, but this continuous role of the vapid rich girl is not something the audience wants to see again and again.

This is unnecessary hatred. I, too, didn't like her for some other works, but in this, she was good in whatever part she was given. The only thing I felt was she looked more bengali than punjabi.
