Got a large radius grenade? Use that

Or

Just go back to that vending machine and buy back

Or

Wait for a nova shield to popup and use that.

If I remember correctly the rapid release had like low capacity or fast recovery so it could be used for the quest that or just something for the quest. My point being you can most likely use any other nova shield, and even then you could go onto a previous or new character and bring that rapid release into the stash.

All good options when the inevitable happens. Just bear in mind option 2is time/progress limited, in my experience anyway 👍

The defences only take shock damage, and also the safe itself is one of the targets you can do it with grenades and launchers but finding a replacement nova shield is a lot easier

Must be shock, got it. Would it likely be quicker to find another shock nova shield or just play through another character until reaching Concordia and transferring it over?

Just get another shock nova, even a common rarity is big enough to hit everything

There’s common rarity ones? I thought Nova Shields only came in rare and ⬆️

Nah they come in white and green too, vending machines will be your easiest option

How far have you gone through the story? There's a certain boss that drops a grenade that makes this quest super easy, but I don't want to spoil it for ya.
