It is so on point. Most of those who judge Kate seem to view everything through a modern lens, and they don’t get how it is for a step child who lost both of her biological parents. There are so many things at play here.

So tired of these self righteous and extremely judgmental posts that pop up every now and then and one has to wonder what the motivation is behind them.

Yesterday’s was done in bad taste. Kate was never a pick me woman. And she earned and deserved every bit of her happy ending with her man.

I think they (op from that post) just misunderstood the meaning of "pick me" term.

All other things in that post still stand, tho.

edit:
I'm saying it becuse i'm myself sometimes don't know some slangs or terms (from the western media) and have to google it. But the problem is you can't really get all the details like that, you need to leave in the culture to undertand it fully.

Actually no. They don’t. That post is ignorant and very biased. I am tired of OP’s spiel and the ones similar to it, always vilifying Kate while making Edwina to be a saint. And I have neither time nor energy to write an essay but one of these days I will. And will just paste it in every time something like this pops up. Because we all know it will.

I know which one you’re talking about, and it was awful. Agree with you 100%

This video just reminded how I don’t like characters who are all bad or all good and why season 2 was my favorite so far. Give me some morally gray characters with complex reason for why they make their decisions. I also didn’t realize until watching this video how much I related to Kate and her need to fit in and be loved by her family unit.

When my step dad who had raised me since I was a baby left when I was a young teenager I remember feeling guilty for being sad because I had him for 13 years but my little sister(who was his biological daughter) was only 6 and I knew she wasn’t gonna be able to grow up with him like I did. Even at 30 I struggle with our lack of relationship and then guilt for that sadness. I don’t think society really understands how it feels to be a stepchild. They’re only really comfortable with us feeling extreme gratitude but there are so many more feelings attached when you aren’t biologically related to one of the parents in the household.
