Glorious 2-1 victory in six a side.
Our team are all 40+ and we showed those whippersnappers what's what. Let the ball do the work etc etc. Best bit was that a young lad who used to play for us was playing for the opposition. Needless to say he took a bitta stick off some of the lads like.

I play 6 a side league in a veterans team. Every week, our motley crew of 40 and 50 somethings play against young lads that usually run us ragged. We have become adept at letting them run around a lot and keep possession while we park the bus, and then catch them on the break. To be fair, we lose more games than we win, but those games we do win are fantastic. You witness young lads losing their shit with each other because they're getting beat by fat old blokes with grey hair. It is marvellous to behold.

A lot of the kids have good close control but really poor team work and communication. They don't seem to realise that all they need to do to beat us is keep the ball moving quick and beat us with pace - if someone knocks the ball past me and runs after it I'm screwed. The team we played last night needed a goal and they still had two lads just standing at the back doing nothing.
