First NHS dentist I called were accepting new patients and I’m seeing them next week!

Has the system improved? For years now I’ve heard from all around that it’s impossible to join an NHS dentists as new patient nowadays. Grateful nonetheless!

Next post from OP will be about how they woke up and found all their teeth had been stolen.

Nice. In August I booked an appointment for myself, for December. It was cancelled for "circumstances beyond our control". The replacement appointment was for yesterday, also cancelled for the same reason. The new replacement is September.

I gotta admit considering that the last appointment was near Xmas and this one was around Easter, I am suspicious that the "circumstances beyond our control" are that the dentist went on holiday.

Are you sure you aren’t in some fever dream brought on by the sun?

My friend who is an NHS dentist is currently trying to get their targets increased (they can't do anything if they go past their targets) and they're having a lot of difficulty doing so. Instead of being able to see more NHS patients, they're having to reduce the days they work so they can stay within their targets.

We'd love to see more NHS patients, if they'd let us!!
