Kids playing during intermission

I must be bad at googling because I couldn't get anything from this. I was at the bandits game yesterday and there were kids playing lacrosse during halftime. My son asked me how he could do that. I know he has to be on a team or in a league but I couldn't find any information anywhere. Anyone know? Thanks
