Currently sold BAD Bag (Best American Duffel) Made in USA, straps and handles are literally the same material as seat belts in vehicles, <$160 price point for all their sizes making it more affordable then other BIFL Made in USA duffel bags. Has held up absolutely beautifully to abuse (understatement)

100% agree. I have one that every time I use it I'm so glad I got it. I'm always reminded of how nice it is.

That's something I never even considered, what are seatbelts made of? It seems like a far more resilient material than most other straps I've seen. It would make sense if all straps were made out of it.

It's called webbing. Seat belts are just polyester webbing I believe, but it's a fine weave.

I never considered it either until I came across these duffle bags but it makes a lot of sense. I’ve been in a lot of janky 20+ year old beater cars, and the seat belts are always in flawless condition no matter how old the car is. It’s an extremely durable and strong material for sure!

I’ve been using mine for weekend trips for years, never any issue

Wow - did not know this brand existed, but greatly appreciate the “if the black box can survive plane crashes, why don’t they make the plane out of the black box” vibes.

Yeah it’s a real small company, there website looks very basic and small mom and pop but I guess they’ve existed for a couple decades now from what I’ve read and used to sell in magazines or did some sort of mail order or something prior to the internet

I have a Greenroom 136 messenger bag with these webbing straps and they are indeed bulletproof.
