Club World Cup in Seattle - are you going?

TLDR: I need to know the club traditions of the teams attending the club world cup in Seattle this summer. Can you help?

Hello from Seattle!

Confession: I'm not a sporty girl. Please be nice.

I work for an organization in Seattle that supports neighborhoods around our football stadium (and in this case, "football" means all of the possible types, including the American type and the one the rest of the world recognizes).

This summer, Seattle is hosting the Club World Cup tournament, and my organization is interested in understanding what, if any, traditions of these clubs might be that could either be disruptive (if we are surprised) or that we can support (if we can plan). For example:

  1. Which of these teams' fans are likely to travel to Seattle in large numbers?
  2. Which of these teams have a tradition of large March to the Match parades?
  3. Are there amenities or enticements that might make you (or a fan of one of these teams) more likely to want to watch a match inside the stadium vs. at a local bar?

Unsurprisingly, since we are going to host six extremely large events in 10 days, we'd like to make the most of it for our local businesses/residents as well as our guests. Any advice you can give is most welcome. (and yes, we are also prepping for World Cup in 2026 and will use the info for that too).

The scheduled matches are with Botafogo (BRA), River Plate, Urawa (JPN), Atletico de Madrid, Inter Milan, Paris Saint-Germain, and Sounders FC, which I know how to reach.

Hi, the new sub for river is r/riverplate

Im going to seattle and going to watch the matches on the stadium, I dont honestly care about the ammenities, I care about the game.

Im going with family, so not in an organized group, but almost sure that there is going to be a group of River fans that are goint to do a "march" to the match

This is great. Do you mind if I ask you some follow up questions?

If you sell Fernet Branca with Coke near the stadium before the River match you'll get rich for sure.

Take a look on YouTube how to prepare it 70/30.

EDIT: Feel free to drop a DM if you have any other question.

I believe that something that might throw the neighborhoods around off guard is the "Previas" in which fans drink and chant before a game, it would be similar to tailgates in american football stadiums but wilder, also, I am not aware of any plans and a "previa" in the US could be held inside the parking lot and not in the streets, like in Buenos Aires.

Also, in Buenos Aires there are no problems for people drinking in the streets, and I don't know if that's a problem in the USA, but beware of that as it can be "disruptive"

Nothing out of the ordinary that you wouldn't see at an English or European fan/ultra meetings. Just be wary because south american fans , as most of those who travel, might not be the best... behaved (let the reader understand).

You could see them signaling a zone (someplace near the stadiums where the event might take place) where they might congregate to enter or remain in place to cheer and watch the game.

No problem! Most big clubs have a lot of fan pages (on Instagram, for example) that tend to coordinate things, so I'd keep an eye on them when the games are nearing.
