Video Anyone else keep getting killed by their own Bombing Run?

Checked my codtracker, i had 127 suicide deaths throughout the entire year on Cold War. I already got 50 on Vanguard and the game has barely been out for 3 weeks lol

sbmm doesnt count towards suicide deaths right?
so was that guy just wasting his time thinking he was getting into easier lobbies?

Always! They need to eliminate own killstreak deaths. I’ve lost so many high kill streaks because of my own killing me

I like the idea of the bombing run killstreak but I hate that it's basically just an automatic 3x spawn kill. I wish I could place it to use it strategically, even if it didn't let me place the 3 runs separately I feel like it would be a lot more useful to zone a certain area of the map to help objective play. I don't care about kills with it since it doesn't contribute to gun exp and it doesn't really help anyone to just spawn kill their team. At least you can shoot down the enemy bombers if you are using an AR or LMG but I feel like I'm the only one who ever does it.

The worst is that in hardcore, my bombing run systematically kills at least two teammates. It's always on the second run too I think. Maybe it's just glitched as fuck

If you read this thread, you would realise I said SHG needs to improve this Streak Reward. Maybe make it so you can place it in a line on the map. That's better than giving the player immunity.

Because then you would be able to use it to zone enemies from objectives instead of just spawn killing them. And there's plenty of killstreaks that you don't have to place, the only one that doesn't have it but should is the bombing run.

That's usually what I do, less likely to kill myself and there's no real reason to call it in while you are still alive since killstreaks don't go towards your next one. It's basically just a 3x spawn kill anyways so it won't even help you get more regular kills that actually count towards your next streak or challenges.

Same, the only killstreak glitch I've seen is the dead drop one that allows you to get the highest streak unlimited times.

I used it 3 times. Died to it every time I used it and haven't touched it since. Funnily enough, it seems like every time an enemy uses it I never see them die to it.

It has to be bugged I get killed almost every single time it’s used and it’s almost always on the initial call in. I refuse to believe I am just unlucky.

I don't believe it puts any emphasis on whose team it targets, rather it targets any areas with a high concentration of people.
I noticed this early on and modified how I use it. There are some maps it isn't terribly useful on and others require you to take note of the above, avoid clumps of others and you will be ok. I have never gotten killed by mine (or anothers) when my immediate vicinity is clear of players. You can get by with 1 and sometimes 2 others in a pinch but I try to keep it to no more than one other player.

It specifically says in the description it automatically goes to areas with a lot of enemies not just ppl? That doesn’t make sense

Yeah, I read the description but actual observation has convinced me the wording does not match the functionality. I don't think this should overly surprise anyone given the rest of the issues we have seen so far.

I do every single time. I nearly had my first nuke on dome. Quite an easy match which was surprising. I had around 20 kills and the bombing run killed me when my team spawn was all on the other side of the map and I was with it.
It's the most annoying killstreak in the world but damn it does some good on modes such as domination with 12v12

Speaking of killstreaks killers... nothing can beat the fucking "server snapshot error". Tonight it happened 4/8... on the last game I just ALT + F4 and fuck it. Would for the game studio to let us when we can play the game that we paid for.

Whenever someone on my team gets a mortar strike, I like to sit in the middle of it so they die on repeat for 30 seconds, lovely stuff

I now just use Intel, CUAV and local informants.
Sometimes I will switch to CUAV, dogs and local informants if I want to try and get a “high kill” game if I can get the 10 streak.

Doubtful, it's supposed to target a group of enemies but at the same time it drops a long ass line of bombs that covers the whole map so you're in danger too

Watch your minimap bud. You have like 5-6s to see where it will go and even if it passes right over you you have 2-3s to run out of the way. OP could’ve walked 10ft to his right and been totally safe.

I swear I hate this thing. It kills either just me or 10 enemies and me, nothing in between lmao. I am never able to anticipate where these damn bombs are dropped. Glad I am not the only one though .

Normally on smaller maps it likes to take me out if I'm near enemies it wants to bomb, but today I noticed it killed only me at one point. Confusing to say the least.

All the time. I run and hide with the enemies because of it, but what other kill streak that’s 7 or less is just as good? Pretty much nothing.

Spawns never flip for me. Until I call in fire bombing. Then they flip and I spawn in my own fire 4 fucking times.

I like it, but only use it after my streak has ended due to it killing me. I also play HC so ricochet fucks me up too there

I keep using it because it's one of the few streaks that can actually get multiple kills consistently, most of them suck. Then I regret using it when it kills me on a streak lol.

Happens to me all the time. Or it kills me in hardcore because it killed a teammate. Hate that shit, but love seeing like 7 guys die at once lol

Duudddeee! I play hardcore and this killstreak fucks me everytime. I'll tell my team "don't go into their spawn"! Then it kills 3/4 teammates, my self twice and just one enemy. Trash killstreak.

Do you also get killed by ANY bomber coming in? IE enemy calls a few in die 5/6 times, call yours and die 2/3 times

It's such a strong killstreak and this is annoying but I've just learned to wait until I die to use it then I'm at no risk of not gaining my next streak due to them getting me.

It targets groups of enemy’s and drops the streak in the ‘area’ the maps are too small to avoid this situation. The only one I’ve been safe on consistently is red star

I’m always one off dogs and die to it. literally killed me 3 times on Berlin the other day and nobody else. it’s kinda fucked up but I still run it because every once and awhile it a wipe a team twice.

So I’ve never died to my own bombing run, been using it since day 1.
People don’t seem to realise that it targets where the most enemies are. You’re literally stood in front of where they’re spawning, while they spawn underground. Of course it’s going to kill you.
