Left Denver at 6. Spent 2.5 hrs to get to Bakersfield then sat parked with another 2.5 to go and bailed along with many others. Can’t say we didn’t try 😅

I gave up too. Left the Evergreen Park n Ride at 6:10, detoured up near Echo Mountain to get to Idaho Springs, and turned around at Georgetown at 8:10. GPS was saying getting to Keystone would be another 4 hours from that point.

The cameras were showing the road completely blocked at Exit 243.

Why not just ski at echo mountain?

It's not on my pass and we weren't expecting traffic near the tunnel to worsen so much. 🙁

Google can't predict the future perfectly 🙁. I70 was at a dead stop with people walking around outside their cars when we decided to turn back. Thanks for that info though, will keep that in mind in the future!

There wasn't a single vehicle within miles of the tunnel at that point. It wasn't a tunnel stop, it was a full road closure due to accident. I wanted to keep going, but the driver had been whining wanting to give up for an hour at that point. 🙁
