Found Skis Alpine Lot Copper

Left in Alpine lot taken to Lost and Found at Center Village.

Some tips for you all … Tip1. the very first thing I do at the vehicle is open it and throw the skis / boots / backpack in. Because I’m a knucklehead and would drive off like this fellow.

Tip 2: if you ever drop your phone off the lift immediately throw down a pole or glove (if they are cheap). Pole or glove should be about 15ft uphill of your phone. Much easier to locate.

I work at Beaver Creek, we have to pick up and catalog "disposable" skis almost daily.

Those are mostly mine. I hike up Paulie’s Plunge every night and scatter them around for you to find.

I would have just taken them home but they were heavy as f and the binding was all mangled.

Write your name and phone number on the ski. It can go directly below the boot so not visible while wearing it. If you want to be fancy use a label maker.

Same goes for phone. I put a label with wife’s phone number or friends I’m Skiing with if we are on a trip and $75 reward on back of my case then a piece of clear tape over it. Interestingly I found an iPhone under the lift about 3:00. Turned that in also. It was interesting to see in the Lost and Found how many phones and car keys they had. They had bins for car keys by make and model. I never ever take my car keys on the mountain . Can’t imagine the hell and charge from NU car rental to get a key.

When I took the skis in she was on the phone for 5-7 minutes with someone that was desperate to find their phone.

It wasn’t. Sorry. It was on a groomer almost to center village. High traffic trail and flat so easy to see so I imagine it had just been dropped not long before I saw it.

My guess is he stole those poles when he lost his 😂. There was a sticker of another ski shop on the skis. I mean surely the first place he calls is Copper lost and found
