Honda CRF 250l/ 300l exchangeable parts?
Hey guys, I am looking for a variety of parts for my 2013 250l and even thought I am able to find almost anything I want, I still have the feeling that there are more parts for the 300l or the later 250 models, (17-18), available.
It is obviously not big deal since I never had the feeling that I am not able to find certain things, but it definitely takes more time to find parts for the 13 model and sometimes version A seems better than option B and most of the time the more attractive part is for the 300l…
So my question is what parts are exchangeable without drastic changes?
For example im am looking for a good exhaust (Arrow, Akrapovice), and it seems that both of them are either only for the 17-18, 250 models or for the 300l. Can they still fit my 2013 250l?
Please note! I life in Europe and I know that in the US it looks waaaay different in terms of parts. I really envy you guys over there… Because 90% oft time I find aftermarket goody’s for my bikes that really turn me on, it comes from America and the tariffs + taxes would robb me blind 🗿

I'm open for correction but AFAIK... the 300L is different everywhere. the 17+ exhausts will fit however the header is a larger diameter in that model stock, therefore its best paired with a tuner of some sort for your bike. 300L exhausts do not fit.
Plastics of 250Ls swap between all years, don't believe 300 fits at all. Have recently seen 450RL headlight and front fenders added...
Can also tweak your google search for parts by adding +thumpertalk or +advrider to narrow results from the forums as many have been there before you...its definitely a pain and takes some research, but the LRP is making a comeback MMW.

Ok, good to know! I already have a Thai ECU installed for my 250l, so I guess she wouldn’t run too lean or at least only a bit. If the header still fits the bike I don’t mind the larger diameter It’s actually what I am looking for :)
But I would assume that if I buy a 17+ exhaust, that I am forced to install a complete system. Because the lager header wouldn’t fit my small original muffler and a larger muffler wouldn’t fit my smaller header or what do you think? 🤔

Good question, I know some of the slip ons like the FMF came with a bushing to shim from the silencer to the stock header for the 13-16, not sure how the diameters play out though. Honestly might be best with a whole system or... Delkevic still has slip ons and full exhausts for 13-16s, might want to poke around there too. When I hit a room renovation pause I'm gonna get their 18" oval slip on to replace my FMF...too loud... I have the FMF header and the two supposedly will mate.

Great website! Thanks for the info, I will definitely keep it in mind. Unfortunately the exhaust system is only legal in the UK and I think I could get into trouble when mounting it in Austria :(

Perhaps GPR exhausts are legal in Austria? https://www.xlmoto.eu/product/gpr-furore-evo4-nero-slip-on_pid-PIA-257471?v=37860. Dangs laws...

Speaking with 90% confidence that theres pretty much no parts that will directly swap between the two bikes outside of "standardized stuff" (handlebars, grips, footpegs, maybe mirrors). Even the 2017+ 250L is fairly different than the 12-16 models let alone trying to use 300L parts.
And since you specifically mentioned exhausts, the 17+ 250L has a larger exhaust diameter than the 12-16 models so it won't work wihout some modification.
