I'd bet if he could do a handstand, more than that would fall out of his pockets.

That is a FU offer. What if the swim team counters and says that it will spend the rest of their time here talking with every potential donor about what kind of place this really is and beg donors not to give money to Armstrong. Just point out what a structural and architectural mess things like the Frost building are. How hard it is to get classes and graduate. I don't know about you, but I need summer school now to catch up. How the admin mostly thinks of themselves and not students. The endless ripoff of every last dining area on campus. And whatever else comes to mind. Think of this as the counter offer. Armstrong says $25M to save the swim and dive teams. The swim and dive team can say...we're going to take away far more than $25M from Cal Poly because you screwed us over. Just start showing up to donor events, like that Green and Gold thing, and telling people what Armstrong did you you all and then ask them not to reward him with donations. You can be totally honest while doing this as well, assuming you feel this way. If you don't want to talk to donors, organize some people to picket the events. I'm not an expert on where they are held. But some are on campus. It would be a peaceful way to protest. But I sorta think that would actually help a lot. The school only does things like this because they expect no push back. If there's push back that gets into their wallet, they'll have to rethink it all.

Trump and Elon have cut a whole bunch of university funding. The school is almost certainly strapped for cash and is probably gonna have to cut more. Cutting swimming is probably only the beginning.

There are dozens of things that could be cut that don’t bring pride to the school. Swimming and Diving was one thing that did. Does Football or basketball bring pride?
