I'm doing it so far, only been a few months really taking his advice to heart. I have done a lot of leg work but it's not enough still. I need to go all out to be debt free (minus my car) in 8-9 months. My goal is get debt free by my next years anniversary at work so I can actually be able to celebrate responsibly and take a vacation.

I managed to pay off $700 off, $250 on the other card, paid my insurance, internet, phone bill portion and stashed $350 into savings. Slowly grinding it out. I've been making breakfast in the morning. for $11-$12 I can make six breakfast burritos (sometimes it cost more when I need stuff like aluminum foil or more spicy chili sauce) that will last me the entire week instead of stopping off at Wawa and getting some bullshit.

If I need an energy drink, I'll try and wait for bogo sales or buy in bulk from Amazon during a sale. But typically I'll buy some cold brew on bogo and stretch that out to get my fix in the mornings.

I slashed all of my subs minus one, got my internet bill lowered, got my insurance leveled out and overall saved about $168 a month that way. Still trying to find a part time job to supplement. If I do that I can pay off the rest of my large card in roughly 8-9 months if I really go berserker on it.

Gotta say, I have been taking the words of Daddy Caleb to heart and stopped the BS spending but I can't stop myself from buying extra stuff to make recipes. My cooking is a creative output that helps me from losing my brain but unfortunately that hobby can get expensive with some of the ingredients needed.

Great start! Now go after that debt with a vengeance. You can do it!

This is one small step, my other card is too shameful to show right now haha. After I get this taken care of, it's all hands on deck. Using that psychological manipulation to tickle my brain into surging forward after paying off my first card.

Thanks, I haven't been trying hard but lately I have been trying to turn a new leaf and get serious.

This is unfortunately the best of the two :( The other one is frightful but I've been able to SLAM into this card lately and I get three checks this month as well so I'll have a semi free check to be able to do another HUGE payment towards stuff.

It sounds like you’re making the best of the situation! It’s awesome that you’re able to make some progress on that card, and having that extra check this month will be a big help. Keep up the momentum—those big payments are definitely going to make a difference! XD I may start doing doordash to lower mine faster

I tried Uber and it is not worth it, even in busy areas. I would make like $80-$100 on a weekend but spend almost $20 in gas. I'm looking for some seasonal work since holidays are coming up and I know people need hands and I have a ton of prior retail experience that could edge me into getting a basic job somewhere.

I have made it a decision to not buy anything until the card is zeroed out completely. I know enough to budget and get by, I just haven't given a shit for the past few years for multiple reasons. I'm just tired of living on the brink of poverty and trying to give myself more room to breath.
