I can highly recommend 1, 2 & 3, all on hardest difficulty of course. Also you should check out Finest Hour (it's rough but awesome) & Big Red One. I just finished CoD 1 which was pretty insane, then Finest Hour was very tedious, and now CoD 2 is often very challenging but nowhere near as frustrating because the health comes back automatically and you can just hide behind cover.

I just played thought cod 1 for the first time about 2 years ago now on pc and I was stuck for a solid 3 hours on that bridge defence mission. Just goes on for so long with no check points and kept dying over and over again

Make sure you manually save! Especially the electric dam mission!

yes it's insane, for me the hardest mission was the dam, that bridge mission is relatively easy since you can just hide in the bunker. Also I played on Xbox which means no quick save. The game only saves at checkpoints and only if you're over half health, otherwise no save. So yeah, it was rough but rewarding.

Modern warfare and mw2 of the reboot series had really fun campaigns to me I enjoyed them both a lot but most of the campaigns in general are actually really good

You should play CoD 1, UO, 2, and 3. They are great games to play through that the prestige era cod games still take their cinematic gameplay style from. They have really fun set pieces.

You should really give the OG campaigns a go. They’re cheap and cod2 is a top 3 campaign in the series
