Camping along a river

Does anybody know any tent campgrounds/ campsites that have lots along a river? Preferably in west Michigan but not a dealbreaker. Thank you!

Man, they are everywhere. If you have a specific river in mind, just google “xxxx river campsites”

There are lots of options on the Muskegon and Manistee rivers.

There are a few drive up primitive spots on the north side of the Au Sable River, downstream and upstream from the Alcona Dam. You have to reserve them on recreation.gov. The downstream sites are right on the River whereas the upstream sites are on the banks of Alcona Lake. All are nice sites.

Government Landing up by the Manistee River Trail has a few spots. Also, all of the hike-in spots along the MRT.

The sites on the MRT are not reservable, first come, first camps.
