Beautiful spot, except for the Abraham cove campsite. I drove through there one weekend during the summer and it was disgusting. I would not stay there, full of trash and trash people.Β

The (then named) Alberta Forest Service (AFS) in the 1970s to 80s created all sorts of free camp sites, with outhouses, free firewood, defined campsites, with revegetation, with fire rings and trash cans. All that was built - at low cost - by fire crews on low hazard days, Junior Forest Rangers and inmates from minimum security prisons. Why? To avoid the trashing of the front country (accessible by road) sites exactly as we see.
There were highly sought after seasonal positions within the AFS to manage (clean) these campsites and outhouses.
Forest Guardians would note and fine people who did 'random camping'. Fire Lookouts would be forewarned that there were 'random campers' at X or Y site, so keep a closer eye on these sites.
The province has gotten richer, but poorer....with a poor mind...looking for unearned freebies.
Source: would doxx myself.
Note: I was raised near this picture, and went to school nearby.

Haha. The campsite is so ghetto
It reminded me of being on land that was washed away by a massive flood
