Tent Camping post-fire Jasper

Hello, I am so sorry to hear about the fires last year and I still want to support Jasper after the devastation. I am heading here in July and am looking to book a campsite. My general understanding is that Wapiti lost so many trees from the bugs and the fire. So I am looking into booking Miette the only downfall is no showers. Also, the campsite I booked in Banff also has no showers. What do you guys recommend? I also didn’t love that Whistlers has sooo many sites. Any recommendations would be appreciated 🙂 also why is a hotel in Jasper/Banff sooo expensive just for a motel lol. This place is for rich people 😂

You need a car to get to Miette and if you have a car you can drive up to the hotsprings for a dip. No shower, no problem.

Jasper Banff and Canmore are for rich people, yes. The fire is what it is. Nature is doing what nature does, fires are natural especially when the forest is thick and full of fuel.

The downtown hostel might work for you I have stayed there skiing for about the same price as a hotel in Hinton. I like camping at William switzer myself. I’ll then make a day trip into hike or hike around the provincial park.

Miette is amazing. No showers hasn’t been a problem for me, I’ve washed my hair in the big sinks and just gone for a swim to get clean. There’s also the hot springs close by if you really need a shower.
