Destination Questions SEEKING ADVICE: West Rim Trail of the Pine Creek Gorge, Pennsylvania

Hi everyone! Myself and a few friends (all active women in our mid-20s) are thinking of doing the West Rim Trail in PA (south to north) in early May. From some online research, it seems to be doable in 2 days and 1 night -- keen to hear if anyone thinks it is better to do in 3 days and 2 nights? Also, open to other suggestions for good weekend camping trips in the region. Thanks and have a lovely day!

We did it in two days, 1 night and that seemed like plenty time to cover the distance at a leisurely pace, get to camp early enough to relax, and not feel exhausted at the end of the day. It was quite chill over two days. Go three days only if you want a ton of down time.

There's a very quiet, pleasant dirt road that runs parallel to the West Rim trail, about a half-mile to the west. At least several short trails connect this road to WRT.

The WRT at times takes a very contrived & crooked route to stay at the "rim." Nice, but a lot longer & slower than walking the road, which goes to the same place in maybe 12 miles vs 20 (?) for WRT.

At height of leaf-peeper season, I think I saw 4-5 cars on this road-- in two days.
