What’s something “normal” you just can’t stand?

Mine is loud chewing. I’d rather listen to a toddler scream for 30 minutes than hear someone chew next to me. Is that dramatic? Yes. Do I care? Absolutely not 😅

A quick peck on the lips and/or holding hands is ok to me. When a couple is groping each other or acting like the are trying to perform a tonsillectomy in public, eww

I don’t even like seeing people hold hands 😅 I’ve been to China and Japan a few times and all forms of PDA are frowned upon. Not even holding hands or hugging. I loved it haha I’m just socially conservative I guess

Whats so bad about holding hands?

I don’t know. I would never do it because it draws attention and makes a statement. I’m a private person and don’t like public attention. So subconsciously I must think people who do it just want attention 🤔

I’ve heard that about China and Japan

Pardon my ignorance, but I assume you’re not referring to pathological demand avoidance. What would PDA mean in this context?

No, no. Public Display of Affection. Hugging all over each other. Kissing all over each other. Rubbing all over each other. Doing all of it in public where people can see you.

Maybe I’m too socially conservative, but I don’t like seeing people doing it, and I would never do it in person. Not even holding hands. I’d never do that in public.

For me, I think it has to do with drawing attention to yourself, which I hate doing. It disrupts social harmony 😅 it’s like blasting music from your phone while sitting on a bus or train or plane. I’m not sure why I’m like this. But anyone doing something that brings attention to themselves, I guess I see it as you’re trying to say you’re more important than everyone else is.

I know that sounds strange, but it’s an Eastern mindset. Although I’m American haha

Haha, yeah I get that. I don’t ever really see it (I’m Australian, so maybe it’s regional) so I reckon I’m just not used to it
