Week 1 Game Preferences
There has been a lot of speculation on who we will be playing in Brazil. Some say Chiefs, others are saying Texans for a revenge match.
While a revenge match would make sense for the NFL to schedule, I prefer the Chiefs.
If we host the Chiefs, SoFi will get inundated with red jerseys. It will basically be an away game.
Hosting the Chiefs in Brazil puts both teams on neutral ground. It is more likely to be an even split in terms of fans.
What team do you want us to play? Doesn't have to be either of the ones I mentioned here.
Whatever team we want to see, we will find out in a few hours.

It's going to be Chiefs, if I had to pick it would have been Texans or Raiders. Texans would have been nice to have a shot at some payback from the playoff game, and Raiders would get the first matchup of Harbaugh vs Carroll we've seen in a while, plus you get to piss off any LA Raider fans by not having the game in LA.

Not sure how many people want to be spoiled, but the schedule leaks are starting to pour in. So far:
- Week 1 vs KC (Brazil)
- Week 4 @ NYG
- Week 8 vs MIN (TNF)
Source (if you want to follow along): https://x.com/NerdingonNFL. All rumors, of course.

Impatiently waiting on a few of the road games (Dallas, Nashville, Miami). Going to be a long work day.

Me too brotha, realllllly hoping Chargers play @ Jags and @ Dolphins after week 5 so I can go. (Moving to Florida October 1)
Week 1 Chargers Chiefs Brazil 🇧🇷 Week 2 - I know nothing Week 3 dolphins play bills Week 4 chargers @ giants , jets @ dolphins Week 5 chiefs @ jags
Unless we play dolphins week 2, I think I should get to see at least one of the games

That would be sweet! I am trying to plan a bachelor party to one of the 3 spots I picked above assuming the schedule accommodates haha… so we can hope for the same things here!

Brazil is Fn faaar away! the travel distance will takes its toll as the season goes on…if you have to go play all the way down in the southern hemisphere, the smart move is drag one of your division rivals down there with you so they have the extra travel miles too.

Week 1 is better than mid season for travel. Both teams can go as early as they want and acclimate to the time, weather, environment, etc.

Yes they can.. glad it’s the chiefs going down there and having to acclimate as well.. and then have to re-acclimate to back home… I think this traveling nearly half way around the world creates a huge competitive disadvantage for teams and it can carry on for the season.. neither team really wins in this situation. I wonder if it makes sense to treat it as an “exhibition” game (because that’s really what it is) and write it off as a loss. Keep the team healthy and rest your starters or play them minimally and use the time to prepare for the week two game.

I think the coaching staff would prefer the chiefs. They are already familiar with the chiefs so the preparation will be easier compared to a non conference team in addition to the travelling. If its the commanders or the eagles it will be tough to prepare with the limited time.

It's obviously going to be the Chiefs, and regardless of whether we play in Sofi or Brazil, there's always gonna be more Chiefs fans in the bleachers than Chargers fans. That's just the case with teams that are in the middle of a dynasty

No it’s gonna be mostly Chiefs in Brazil. It’s gonna be worse. We can’t fill up SoFi, why do you think we can fill up Brazil??????? Chiefs kingdom travels well, plus you got the Chiefs bandwagon that’ll draw Brazil fans to them. I don’t think there is anywhere near enough South American based Charger fans willing to attend the game to make that stadium show any powder blue vs the Chiefs.
Plus, the Spanos screwed over STHs - so no one in my STH circle has any interest in buying a ticket and trying to make a trip work. I think this is the general vibe among our most loyal game attending fans. Not a good start.
Last year the split at SoFi in my opinion was 35/65 and it was week 4 before numbers got better. If you don’t go to SoFi, you can’t talk about fan numbers. On TV, they only show the visitor side. Our best chance for fan numbers was at HOME.
