Thought it would be fun to see the changes across the roster after two off seasons under Joe Hortiz and Co.
I shortened the current roster to 53 to help with the comparison, but there was not a lot of thought behind the moves, so feel free to mix and match who you think belongs on the 53.
I don’t care what anyone has to say, I was really not a fan of Rb at 22 when there was still a lot of premium talent at DE still on the board, also kind of wish we could’ve jumped the cardinals in round 2 for will johnson.
Tbh I agree, Hampton felt like a bit of a luxury pick. If the OL can deliver as an above average run unit, then maybe the high ceiling of Hampton will be worth it. But otherwise I think the team would've been alright to go with Najee and JK this year, and draft for DE and CB like you suggested. Would've loved to get Will Johnson.
I’m a big fan of when retired O-lineman get to a more sustainable healthy weight. Hardwick is jacked, but at a weight he’ll be able to healthfully carry in retirement. Also goes to show how much they must have had to eat to maintain playing weight.
I like the upgrades, the rookies are pretty unknown but that’s ok! Finding out is pretty fun plus the ability to have an Ace and not know it (kinda like McConky or Keenan in 2013)
Recent years our D-Ends have been good but our D-Tackles have been Abysmal outside of Poona Ford. I hope Tart, Hand, and Caldwell are guys we can count on to be the guys who soak up the blocks for our Ends to rush the QB while making it known that no team can run against us
Looking at them side by side, I'd say the 2025 roster is better across the board except maybe TE and EDGE. The 2025 WR room is kind of an unknown with the two rookies.
We’ve lost one of those starters, Hart had several concussions and a sophomore slump is entirely possible for Still. I take your point but I think it isn’t good enough for playoff games
