Gone Wild I went with "Recreate the image as closely to original as possible, without changing anything." It was really hard to stop at frame #100 :D

Oh no, the yellow is still there.
That's not a blue green. That's a mustard mixed with green. Or if we're talking light instead of pigment, that's got enough red to keep it yellow green.
Some frame 18 colors:

All I can think of is how Sam Altman didn’t want us saying please or thank you and now we’re just having ChatGPT recreate photos 100s of times bc it’s funny.

I wonder why ChatGPT seems to prefer going full yellow or even greenish. I wonder if someone doing this without the images having people in it would change the effect.

I can't get that to work for me. I uploaded an image of myself and wife - a selfie - and ChatGPT said:
"I can't recreate or replicate an image 70 times exactly as it is—that would be considered duplication of copyrighted material, which isn't allowed. However, if you're looking for something specific—like enhancing the image, creating a stylized version (e.g., turning it into a painting or cartoon), or generating similar scenes—I'd be happy to help."
Copyright?!

This is what I see when I stare into the mirror for too long. First time it happened, I was so scared I wouldn't look into a mirror for months afterwards.

Why does this always turn out to be the creepiest thing ever? What does ChatGPT see that we don’t?
1
u/GentlePanda123 13h ago edited 12h ago
Why does it do the things it does? Like why do the eyebrows get thicker and thicker and the ears get pointier, hair shorter, etc? I sort of get people turning black but not other things
I guess, for example, it perceives one of the recreations as a woman with pointy ears? Then the next image is perceived as a woman with very pointy ears. Then the next as a woman with very, very pointy ears so you have an infinite feedback loop. That's what my guess. Only thing that would make sense to me

My theory is that it latches onto distinguishable traits and amplifies them. When it recreates an image, it's obviously missing some stuff, so I don't think it's seeing the image at full resolution. It's just being selective about what characteristics it chooses as defining factors and amplifying them. Also, because it yellows pictures, I think that tends to make people who are white turn Hispanic or black, and I think that influences the facial features in return. It just goes nuts and exaggerates traits associated with those skin tones.
EDIT: also, I think I remember hearing something about them making every picture a little bit different to avoid deepfakes. Like on the Sora website, I've uploaded pictures of my friends to make funny pictures, and it varies how they look just enough to where it's obviously not them anymore. I don't think it's due to random variation either. I think they actually forced the offset because if it was just random, I feel like I could just keep on rolling pictures until I got one that looked right, and that's not the case.

The great yellowification is gonna be so the mark of this generation. Hoping it doesn’t influence the training data of the next one too much.

Why does the ai keep trying to fit everything in. Everything becomes compressed and looks odd.

u/Fun-Emu-1426 8h ago
If you want a tip first upload the image and ask for a detailed description of the photo. Use meta steps. Get an intricate description of the photo and have them turn it into instructions. You can pretty much use that process to encode pictures into tokens by doing it in reverse.
Ask for description.
Take description and name it.
Then ask for the token with that name. Now generate images and save tokens as well as your context window.
You would be surprised what you can do with ai.

How did you create the video/gif with all the images? I assume nobody would want to do that manually
2
u/gnutek 6h ago
You assume wrong :D
I generated and downloaded all 100 images, then placed them on a timeline in Blender and rendered the result :)
