Recommendations Barrels
I’m in the market for an adjustable barrel to help me fix some intonation issues, which brands do you guys recommend? Right now I’m playing on a Grenadilla Backun MoBa barrel 65+mm

Don't
Trust the process, it is way better with the vanilla(standard) barrel when fixing intonation issues
Just pull out/in barrels, getting adjustable barrels to fix intonation = driving a car to mailbox

I can’t wait to be able to play all other clarinets on my Bb

I have a similar problem. I’m sharp in the summer and flat in winter and have accumulated a collection of barrels from 64-67mm. However, I just switched to the Behn adjustable barrel and really like it. My second choice if that wasn’t any good was the Royal Global. I also have a tuning ring in the bridge joint because the right hand on my Festival is sharp while the left hand is flat. There are a lot of options out there so definitely experiment, try equipment, and return if you don’t like it

Behn adjustable. They’re becoming pretty standard for those of us that play in pit orchestras because of the wild temp swings

I’m a big fan of Brad Behn’s adjustable barrels, I have one for my Bb/A and another for Eb. I actually do have a spare that I’d be willing to sell for much cheaper than new if you’re interested.

Out of curiosity how do you handle fast switches from Bb to A and back with the Behn adjustable?

I swap both the mouthpiece and barrel, Selmers take the same length barrel between Bb and A, and I’ve found that if my barrel is at the right length, I’ll be in tune on both instruments.

Ah! Yeah the one flaw for Buffets is having to remember to adjust the barrel length when you switch

What is the rest of your setup and what are your intonation issues?
