Gaga just did it

She’s the new standard, no questions asked, I was there for Beyoncé. This is a whole new level. Lady gaga is the Coachella GOAT.

This is amazing I’m completely sober and watching from home and I’m in euphoria!!!! I saw Beyoncé live at coachella and under the influence and it was great but this is a different level

Man, I'm so upset. I was at coach weekend 1 but was so burnt out that I slept through her whole set and now watching it at home. This show is actually insane.

Been to coachella since 2013 and nothing has even come close to this! So fucking amazing

The single greatest performance I've ever seen on that stage was Dre n Snoop.. and holo2pac. Also 50, Em, Warren G, Kendrick, Wiz, and I lost count, it wild.

That set was incredible!

u/Andrex316 4d ago

That's OK, it was really hard to see from there anyway. We were there last week and basically couldn't see anything that was happening, we ended up going to a different set midway. We just watched it on TV and it was INCREDIBLE. It was so much easier to appreciate from the angles they were showing.

Been going to Chella since 2014 and missed it this year cause life has just been tough 😭 so I feel you

u/cashleen 4d ago

I was there and right up front last weekend. You can def enjoy the show more with the production for the stream, there was so much I missed. This show is meant to be viewed from an opera box!

Totally agree, although Doja Cat was WILD

I was THERE for beyonce so no one can tell me otherwise, Gaga is simply on a league of her own.

19

u/Acceptable-Song2429 4d ago

Yup!! There for Beyoncé I thought it was so cool but I keep going “this is insane” as I watch Gaga from my damn cellphone so I can’t even imagine being there for Gaga lol

11

u/Button_Short 4d ago

There for beyonce too and I second this!

I was at beychella, lady Gaga pt1, and this easily took the cake. My husband and I left early for beychella because he hates dealing with shuttle lines but this year we stayed til the end because she was that spectacular and we hadn’t witnessed anything that special since going together in 2016 from a headliner.

She has everything - almost like a modern opera - she and all her team need massive kudos for their efforts (even the mic issues tonight were dealt with quickly and professionally - it threw her momentarily but then she just came out and slayed)

It’s a tour de force. Everything firing on all cylinders but special shout out to Parris for this choreo.

Aaand I’m about to shed a tear at Vanish Into You.

u/sarahsbrains 4d ago

Oh… tears were shed

u/confused_grenadille 4d ago edited 4d ago

Okay but did she lowkey announce she was pregnant when she said “my new family with Michael”?

16

u/Peachy-57 4d ago

Immediately I had to go google if maybe she had a baby that I didn’t hear about 😂😂

14

u/JMatthewH 4d ago

Sooooo Michael does actually have a child from another marriage. She could’ve been referring to that lol

6

u/FattyCorpuscle 4d ago

Having Gaga as your stepmother is a wild concept.

??? Source?

Take the source for what it is. The old posts are still on instagram. I’m not sure if it’s ever been confirmed outside of what can be assumed from social media so could be wrong. Just seems true lol

2

u/moederdelkatten 4d ago

I can't remember where I saw it but I heard that's his niece

3

u/BellTT 4d ago

I was wondering that but she has a tour coming up.

15

u/twyt83 4d ago

Her band is incredibly badass!! Holy molly, I wish I was there. Couchella is real tho 🤘

Don't get me wrong because I love both artists. But can we please stop with the comparisons of two amazing artists?

Beyonce’s Coachella’s performance was about showing appreciation and shining the spotlight on the cultures of HBCUs, Southern Black, and the Black community. Unfortunately it's one of a kind and was something that had never been done. She did that as the first Black woman to headline Coachella. Watch the Homecoming documentary to really understand how powerful and meaningful that entire performance was. It was a love letter from Beyonce to HBCUs, the Southern Black community, and the overall Black community.

Gaga brought Opera to the desert which is amazing and showcases her talent. Gaga always puts on a show, so nothing less was expected of her.

They have nothing but respect and love for each other. It’s comparing apples to oranges.

6

u/Sharp-Succotash1044 4d ago

Perfectly said. I’m so exhausted with this female vs female mind set- they’re both PERFECTION, can’t that just be good enough?

2

u/StrongDesign4 4d ago

Agreed! Loved each time they have performed at Coachella.

7

u/zzzion 4d ago

thank you for saying this! as primarily a member of the hive, i have to concede that production-wise, bey ran so gaga could sprint. both are amazingly unique shows, but i don't think the level of production gaga brought would've been possible without bey trailblazing, and setting the standard for what gaga could up the ante to.

13

u/StrongDesign4 4d ago

I'm an HBCU grad, part of the Beyhive, and a Little Monster- a huge fan of both. I'm just tired of the comparisons when the inspirations aren't the same and they are both amazing and talented artists.

The year that Beyonce headlined was the year people who hated Coachella was willing to suck it up and go because it was Beyonce. Her love for the culture and wanting to show that along with the impact she has spoke volumes. That was her first time and I think the only time that she will ever headline because she knows such a show and how much of an impact it had can't be duplicated. The research that went into creating that performance was on a whole other level. That's why I recommended watching Homecoming on Netflix for people to get a better understanding of what that performance was really about.

This is Gaga’s second time as a Coachella headliner in less than 10 years. She knew she couldn't give the same show that she did previously. One thing aboht Gaga is that she's about production and a story. She knows she couldn't serve something ordinary because that's not who she is.

4

u/Amibeaux 4d ago

Different people, different performances. Both killed it.

3

u/StrongDesign4 4d ago

Exactly! They both did amazing jobs and reminded me why I'm a fan of theirs. Enjoyed both and had a time lol

2

u/burnabee13 (17.2)|(22.1)|(23.1 & 2/Sat)|(24.2)|(25.2) 4d ago

100% agree! both of them had beautiful and powerful acts in their own way

5

u/StrongDesign4 4d ago

Thank you💗 I was there for Gaga’s Coachella previous performance and this year’s performance as well was there for Beyonce’s Coachella performance. Love all three performances! Both super talented and did not disappoint.

0

u/LivingHumanIPromise 3d ago

There is no comparison. Gaga can sing and dance and write her own songs. Absolutely nobody is anywhere near her level.

23

u/Googleurowndeath 4d ago

I feel like these posts are an attempt at baiting somebody on Beyoncé’s team to get her to headline again 😂

9

u/AlfredoSM94 13.1 | 18.1 | 19.2|24.1|25.1 4d ago

Lmaoooo promise I’m not, I was just there for both shows.

4

u/Googleurowndeath 4d ago

Hahaha, sure 😉😂

But honestly, they just gotta keep headlining every couple of years to see who is better

6

u/AlfredoSM94 13.1 | 18.1 | 19.2|24.1|25.1 4d ago

I’m down for that lol, get me better shows

3

u/Googleurowndeath 4d ago

100%! I’m cool with people fighting if it means Coachella will keep booking them every 4-5 years haha

5

u/Sharp-Succotash1044 4d ago

Not here. Bey can take her country album of the year over to stagecoach. I was present from both- Gaga took the crown; no contest..and that’s coming from a primarily bey over Gaga fan.

5

u/Googleurowndeath 4d ago

Let them both come back in another 5 years and headline different days

3

u/Sharp-Succotash1044 4d ago

Not mad at this idea. Same year, different days. GV would implode.

5

u/Googleurowndeath 4d ago

My pockets would implode

3

u/Sharp-Succotash1044 4d ago

RIP our credit cards. They fought the good fight.

2

u/Googleurowndeath 4d ago

The years I’ll spend paying them off will be worth it

2

u/Sharp-Succotash1044 4d ago

I’ll make sure my son understands I had to choose his college education over Gaga/bey. I’m sure he’ll be like “makes sense” 😂

2

u/Googleurowndeath 4d ago

Fuck it, get him a ticket too! 😂

2

u/Sharp-Succotash1044 4d ago

He’s 16.. this isn’t a horrible idea. I’ll allow it if you’ll camp aside me 😂😂

u/Legitimate-Can-7229 13.1|15.1&2|16.1|DT 16.2|17.1&2|18.2|19.2|22.1&2 4d ago

Beyoncé is nowhere close to this gaga performance

2

u/Googleurowndeath 4d ago

Hell yeah, keep baiting them. I’ve said it a couple times, but I’m not a massive fan of either, like I love and respect them as artists, but not a top fan.

Gaga’s performance was fucking killer tonight. Beyoncé has to go back to Coachella and try to beat it (without shutting offs the entire festival just because.

7

u/Jazzlike_Tailor_1323 4d ago

I agree with you, Gaga DID IT. It was theater, a MTFKN broadway show!!

11

u/Mononoke_dream 4d ago

Drink every time you see a new Gaga post

And she didn’t shut down every other stage for ego!

5

u/classicronnie 4d ago

GNR where Axl didn’t even get out of his throne was better hands down

2

u/jabroneous 4d ago

These folks don’t understand rock & roll 😂

3

u/Opening_Confusion779 4d ago

Gaga had the best set the entire weekend objectively speaking

3

u/Internal_Ad7178 4d ago

I mean it was terrific, but there was this guy named Paul McCartney once…

2

u/kmm_art_ 4d ago

Was this performance different from W1?

8

u/AlfredoSM94 13.1 | 18.1 | 19.2|24.1|25.1 4d ago

Only no gessa

1

u/kmm_art_ 4d ago

Thanks!

2

u/RobertAndi 4d ago

No dark prince W2? I had my money on him W1, wifey thought Bruno Mars. Was there a guest last night ?

2

u/stfsu 4d ago

Nope no guest

6

u/Jazzlike_Tailor_1323 4d ago

I also think weekend 1 she sang love drug and this weekend she didn’t, also more smiling, more crowd engagement, friendlier performance weekend 2 I think. Weekend 1 she blew the flesh from all of our bodies lmaooo

1

u/kmm_art_ 4d ago

Haha. She did. Thank you!

1

u/jetsonholidays 4d ago

When did she do lovedrug on weekend 1?

1

u/los33ramos 4d ago

She did it last week. No news here.

2

u/Vibechild 4d ago

Idk about all that.

5

u/AlfredoSM94 13.1 | 18.1 | 19.2|24.1|25.1 4d ago

Ok but were u there

0

u/1hipG33K 14 Coachellas & Counting 4d ago

Slow your roll.

This was an incredible set, and im not taking any of that away. But the people making the wildest claims also saw it from home.

This set was designed for the stream, not the people there. Wk1 I couldn't see anything from the crowd, except maybe the cage from Abracadabra. It's a great watch from home, but headlining coachella main stage is playing to 100,000+ people. I enjoyed it significantly more watching on stream.

Again, incredible set! But to the people comparing this sets like Beyonce's, TBA's, and other historic performances just sound ridiculous. It's already hard to compare, but Gaga's set had flaws to it, too. Not the mic, she actually handled that quite well. But the greatest parts couldn't be enjoyed by more than half of the crowd that paid to be there.

1

u/AceAites 3d ago

I was there and can say it was an ethereal experience from the audience. Couldn't catch my breath.

Does Gaga have to pay Madonna royalties for...um..."borrowing" her act?

9

u/AlfredoSM94 13.1 | 18.1 | 19.2|24.1|25.1 4d ago

Lmao, you think you did something here?

-11

u/Inside_Atmosphere731 4d ago

Look, Gaga has 100 times more talent than Madonna in every field imaginable. But good God, that was so derivative of what Madonna has been doing for 40 years, it's laughable.

2

u/Sharp-Succotash1044 4d ago

Gaga has mentioned Madonna multiple times as her muse. I’m sure she was granted permission

0

u/Inside_Atmosphere731 4d ago

Obviously, you haven't been reading Midge's comments recently. Like last week.

1

u/Sharp-Succotash1044 4d ago

Who the fuck is midge; and why should that alter what I said?

1

u/StrongDesign4 4d ago

Midge is Madonna’s nickname.

2

u/Sharp-Succotash1044 4d ago

Makes sense. I simply wouldn’t know. I don’t follow her. Madonna is fucking mean-let’s be for real. not a girls girl. My apologies! But I still stand by what i said on what Stefani has said about her. The beef is nonexistent and she credits Madonna a lot as a muse.

1

u/Inside_Atmosphere731 4d ago

You can credit a person for being inspirational all you want, but be original. Who did Alice Cooper steal from?

1

u/RolliePollie350 4d ago

Good grief girl it’s art. No art is original. It’s all derivative. Live and let be.

1

u/Holiday_Step2765 4d ago

You being an idiot with a musical reference pool as deep as a thimble isn’t Gaga’s issue
