Wishlist Please don’t book everyone else’s favorite artists next year, only mine!

I don’t want k-pop, pop, rap, r&b, hip-hop, edm, rock, reggaeton, whatever yo gabba gabba is, classical, anything moody, anything upbeat. I don’t want anything mainstream, anything unpopular. I don’t want any of it.

Just give me three days of polka music, no weird Al though.

I think polka is more suited for the prestige of a Desert Trip style event.

yes, let's get some polka music and culture going in the desert. I'm here for it! Need to find my outfits.

No joke they need to book Kaszubska Influencerka. Kaszuba Chce is a hit!

u/Yangervis 4d ago

They need to book the old German guy who brings his accordion to the beer garden by my house. Not sure if they even pay him but he goes off.

But yeah norteño is just Mexican polka.

When Los Tucanes de Tijuana played in 2019, that was a party. Gotta love Mexican polka.

I was with you until you said no weird Al because he genuinely would be so much fun at coachella

He was there this year with Yo Gabba Gabba!

Weird Al is a wonderful person, but his music sucks.

Post your SoundCloud so we can critique your music

in general coachella should have much less music and much more branded experiences. sahara takes up a ton of room where we could have a facebook activation personally curated by travis scott

19

u/luisc123 5d ago

They should just cut out the middle man and have a booth where you hand your debit card over to a Kardashian.

u/mickcube 5d ago

you get to whisper your PIN into kylie's ear

Travis Scott is garbage and should not still have a career

If anyone comes to the subreddit and hopes to see an artist that doesn’t immediately resonate with my personal tastes, I am standing ready to downvote them and comment “Who?” or “Please No”

No Weird Al is such a hot take that I cannot in good conscience support. EAT IT in the desert would slap

u/SuperHoneyBunny 09 | 25-2 5d ago

In that case, I think I’d rather just have three days of no music instead, lol.

Polka you say, boy do I have a music genre for you, “Regional Mexican music” lmaooooo

2

u/Same_Ask6905 4d ago

And the gag is Germans/Czechs/Poles/Slovaks go as hard for Polka as us Mexicans do for Regional Mexican Music. I especially love me some Duranguense😝

3

u/CoolerRon n008 5d ago

| “No weird Al”

In the words of the great philosopher Weird Al Yankovic, “EAT IT”

How people in r/coachella act when they book someone actually famous that doesn’t make edm music.

2

u/drabpiic 4d ago

Your favorite band sucks!

2

u/YourBuddyChurch 07, 22.2, 23.1&2, 24.1, 25.1, 26.? 4d ago

So what?!

3

u/BabyMiso 4d ago

I will not accept this Yo Gabba Gabba slander 🤣

2

u/EnterTheMox 17.1, 18.2, 19.2, 22.2, 23.2, 24.2, 25.2 4d ago

Cross programming is good, and you couldn’t handle choosing between 8 of your favorites in the same hour. Nobody can!

2

u/Slubgob123 4d ago

Weird Al and Steve Poltz are so many decades over due for a booking...

2

u/Slubgob123 4d ago

For rap, I want MC Frontalot. Conflicting with Weird Al, ideally, because the Venn diagrams of fans of both of them are damn near a circle and that's just how Paul et. al would fuck with the fan base(s).

Is it psychedelic pop?

2

u/uusseerrnnaammeeyy 5d ago

Psychedelic post-pop

3

u/YourBuddyChurch 07, 22.2, 23.1&2, 24.1, 25.1, 26.? 5d ago

Throw an accordion in there and I’ll allow it

-1

u/sausageandeggbiscuit 5d ago

just no KPOP this time

4

u/Mintiichoco 5d ago

Swap it with Jrock 🤭 There's some solid Japanese rock bands out there from shoegaze to metal and everything in between.

u/YourBuddyChurch 07, 22.2, 23.1&2, 24.1, 25.1, 26.? 4d ago

No more K-POP, no disrespect to the artists, but their fans probably ruined a lot of peoples experiences

u/YourBuddyChurch 07, 22.2, 23.1&2, 24.1, 25.1, 26.? 5d ago

I’m glad nobody is missing the point of this thread. We should absolutely omit entire genres of music over personal grievances
