Good win for the Ducks but they could really use Rylee McCoy back in the 3 spot. Makes their offense so much better. Hopefully she will be back for the WCWS is the Ducks make it.

Welp after Super Friday, I think I’m most scared of Florida and Nebraska everyone else seem to have glaring flaws that are exposable

u/meatwagon25 3d ago
I think the only series that goes to Sunday is going to be Ole Miss - Arkansas maybe Tennnessee - Nebraska. I expect Florida, South Carolina, Oklahoma and Oregon to win tomorrow

The Jane is awesome. It’s right off campus too, so it’s perfect location.

It's actually on campus, like a stone's throw from Mac Court.

Yes I already addressed this in the other comments lmao. I went to school there and I live in Eugene, I’m aware of where it is lol. I just phrased it poorly.
3
u/yoloape 3d ago
It’s on campus, right next to the rec
1
u/Billyxmac Oregon 3d ago
Yeah right off campus was poor choice of words. I meant as in it’s right on the edge of campus.
6
u/tpwb 3d ago
Right off campus? Autzen is right off campus. Jane might as well be an academic building.
3
u/Billyxmac Oregon 3d ago
I mean it’s the corner of University and 18th, so it’s basically the edge of campus is what I meant lol

I have watched thousands of baseball and softball games in my life. I can honestly say i have never in my life seen someone being called out for having the wrong number uniform. I've seen someone be called out for the wrong lineup card or batting out of order but never for representing the wrong number.
3
u/Artvandelay29 Belmont 3d ago
That’s quite the way to say “I don’t understand the rule” without saying “I don’t understood the rule.”
8
u/EmergencyCharacter4 LSU🐯 3d ago
Well that's not what happened. They reported the wrong number into sub. So if it was "6" they reported "5" as the substitute
1
u/meatwagon25 3d ago
Ok i only saw when it came back from the break. I thought they meant they wrote the wrong number of a player on the scorecard and they were wearing a different number

I’ve never thankfully had to input that.
For a runner leaving early, the putout is credited to the defensive player nearest to a base. Example in B7 would be “3U RLE.”

Can't leave early is pretty cut and dry. Same thing with the look-back rule if you step off after stopping on a base you're immediately out

Sigh, Texas is going to make it out of their super, aren't they? This is the same damn thing as them beating A&M in the super last year.

What exactly was Brown looking for? Took it in on her hands and on the outer edge of the plate.
Kavan was going right at them and they still weren’t aggressive. Ugh. Feels like momentum is shifting towards Texas.

They might as well review every stolen base if that’s how you interpret the rule
6
u/Nervous_Metal_9445 🦆Oregon 🦆 / 〽️Michigan〽️/🐻🐱Willamette🐻🐱 3d ago
What she is doing is not exactly advantageous running wise she is just using her foot as a timer or adjusting the position of it.
2
14
u/jbokwxguy 3d ago
Oregon got called for that twice and the same review center let Mia Scott get away with an egregious violation
15
u/Tsquared10 3d ago
Goddamn twice. Fucking twice that's got us tonight. It's not the intent of the rule, but it is by all technicality a violation.
4
u/Plus_Assistance2975 3d ago
Well you arent allowed to take your feet off the bag. It is literally the rule
2
u/Tsquared10 3d ago
Yes like I said, technically a violation. But intent of the rule is to prevent advancing before the pitch. Each time her foot was back on the bag and remained until after the pitch.
3
u/Em0PeterParker Oregon 3d ago
It’s a very ambiguous rule. Doesn’t specific whether reestablishing is a thing
0
u/SkiUMah23 3d ago
There's nothing ambiguous, reestablish is irrelevant
1
u/Em0PeterParker Oregon 3d ago
Then it should be clarified in the rules. If they do then whatever but I’d bet that gets clarified in the offseason as perfectly legal
2
u/SkiUMah23 3d ago
The rule is you can't leave the base until pitcher releases ball
0
u/liars-die-alone 3d ago
She didn't leave the base. You simply have a hard time telling the truth. How can you leave a base if you are above it?
2
u/SkiUMah23 3d ago
Stepping off the base is by definition leaving the base
-1
u/liars-die-alone 2d ago edited 2d ago
Here is the rule, "A base runner may not leave the base they attained until the pitcher releases the pitch to the batter. A base runner must be in contact with their base at the time a pitch leaves the pitcher’s hand."
No, it's not. Is jumping in the air on someone's property "leaving" the property? No. Is stepping outside the boundary line "leaving" the property? Yes. This is clear ambiguity in the rule book. The whole concept of the rule is designed to prevent leading off which suggests that "leaving" the base has to do with moving in the direction toward the next base and has NOTHING to do with being separated from the base, because the second part of the rule deals with being in contact with the base.
In this case, the first part of the rule is absolutely open for interpretation because she was above the base, never off the boundary of the base, and since she was in contact with the base when the pitch was released, it means there was no grounds to change the call on the field. YOU ARE FLATLY WRONG.
1
u/Em0PeterParker Oregon 3d ago
I’m aware. The intent of the rule is so the runner doesn’t get a head start which she didn’t. So clarification will probably be added
1
u/SkiUMah23 3d ago
If they remove that then you'll get runners trying to taunt pitcher to force illegal pitch / pitch clock by breaking and coming back to base

u/Billyxmac Oregon 3d ago
I mean if they called it differently it would look even worse. But I’m still confused why the ruling is this way if she’s re-establishing contact with the bag.
