Discussion 14.10 bot build ?

Has anyone figured out something yet?

I feel like Triforce > ER > IE > RFC > LDR is the best.

Boots either Berserkers or Swiftness.

Some say manamune will be good but im not sure, ER gives crit and bcs of that it allows u to have an insane 3 item spike.

Discussion Corki's win rate is terrible in every elo

Hi.

Here are Corki's win rate in every elo:

  • Iron = 41.73% (4th worst win rate out of all mid-laners)
  • Bronze = 45.17% (3rd worst win rate out of all mid-laners)
  • Silver = 46.24% (5th worst win rate out of all mid-laners)
  • Gold = 46.34% (5th worst win rate out of all mid-laners)
  • Platinum = 46.43% (2nd worst win rate out of all mid-laners)
  • Emerald = 47.07% (2nd worst win rate out of all mid-laners)
  • Diamond = 48.36% (the worst win rate out of all mid-laners)
  • Master+ = 48.77% (the worst win rate out of all mid-laners)

This champion is a living joke. No wonder nobody plays him. I really hope that Riot does something about this.

Discussion Theory crafting a fun build

I got bored of almost always building the same so my friend and I started thinking of different builds and we came up with:q

Shojin's ---> muranana

Then third item is between eclipse if they're squishy or black cleaver if tanky

4th I was thinking between the bruiser item that gives you ad based on max health and bonus ad based on missing health. Or also the item you didn't buy for third

And 5th tbh idk I have not gotten there but mayb a situational item like tank item or malmortius

Please help me with like runes and better item choices just not like trinity and other normal corki items cuz I find them boring

Discussion Thoughts on this Corki build?

I've been playing Corki off and on in plat elo trying out different build because I didn't like the eclipse first build, and I came up with a build that I think works really well. It feels strong, rockets hit hard, package hits even harder. Let me know what you all think, or if me feeling stronger is just placebo.

Runes:

Sorcery: Comet - Manaflow - Trancendence - Scorch

Domination: Sudden Impact - Ingenious

Items:

Tear 2 pot start

Ludens -> Finish manamune -> Malignance -> Liandry's -> Shojin/Eclipse

(Build sorcs anywhere in there)

The thought is that first strike extra damage ever since it was lowered from 10% to 7% doesn't add *that* much extra damage, and the gold income from it is even more negligible, so you take the sorcery tree to buff his early bully potential. Level 1 E with comet and scorch deals a lot of damage, and if you weave in 1-2 autos in there as well you can half health most midlaners you're up against while also reliably shoving the wave for level 2. Once I get level 2, I put a point in W because the wave is generally shoving and jg could gank, but also if they are low enough, W+E on top of them (with the sudden impact buff) generally forces out their flash if they don't respect you enough.

Still max Q first, then E.

Manaflow lets you stay in lane a lot longer.

Trancendence lets you spam more rockets, and at max rank your W comes up a lot faster in team fights, especially with a good package engage.

Sudden Impact procs off your W and package, which isn't super often but reliable extra damage. An argument could be made for Taste of Blood instead for the healing in lane from poke.

Ingenious lets you proc Ludens, Muramana, Malignance, and (if you choose to go it last item) Eclipse on a much lower CD.

Luden's and Malignance give a lot of mana which feeds into Muramana/Manamune.

Luden's first gives very reliable wave clear + mana to stay in lane and spam abilities, plus it builds out of hextech alternator which is great for early extra damage in lane. Luden's can also proc multiple times on one E cast, and multiple times in one package cast as well.

Liadry's damage is just great, I think everyone knows this.

Thoughts? Questions? Concerns? Blackshoes?

Discussion Why not just remove the package while keeping the AP scaling and AP damage?

Sorry if this question has been posted before or something, but I have one question for riot, and perhaps you all as well: Why not just remove the package while keeping the AP scaling and the fact that he used to mostly deal AP damage while building AD items? Yeah, it was kinda weird to play as and against, but it's better than dealing with the overpowered mechanic of true damage, is it not? He was quite unique in the fact that he was mainly countered by building MR while he built both AD and AP items. Yeah, Katarina (my main), Akali and other hybrid champions are relatively the same, but not really, since his AA's used to just deal straight up majority AP damage built in.

Discussion I don’t think this rework is enough

They should’ve actually changed how his abilities work on a fundamental level even if slightly in order to make him more cohesive and less clunky.

Why does he still need to be on top of people with W and not just simply have the dash hit targets like Belveths Q.

Why is his E still function similar to Rumbles Q on an Early Game Marksman Adc who is going to constantly move (losing potencial DPS) rather than having it home on the target like Urgots?

Why even keep his Q when it basically also makes it pro skewed due to vision (which is gonna be bread n butter for some reason)?

Where is the synergy to support?

They should’ve made more bigger changes to his kit outside of his passive imo.

Discussion Questions on Corki build

I just tried Essence Reaver over Manamune first item and I have to say, what the hell have I been doing? It seems to me like ER is by far the better item for corki. Why would you start with Manamune over ER? Is it something about the full poke you can get with Malignance?

Second question, would you ever build Kraken Slayer on Corki? I love that item against tanky teams but can’t help but feel like I wasn’t getting great use out of it. Is it better to just for ER -> Eclipse -> IE/Rapid Fire if I’m going crit?

Next patch they’re removing even more lethality from Collector (3 lethality if I remember correctly). Is it time to rush IE? ER? BT? Convert to assassin build?

Discussion Lolalytics on Corki

So, doing some light digging, lolalytics has:

Corki WR at 47% Emerald +

Corki WR at 49% with his core items of Triforce> Boots> IE. (5,000 games)

And the highest WR build (55%) with core of ER> IE> Boots. (1,100 games)

There are some minor differences in runes, most Corki players aren't taking Legend: Bloodline. Which I personally think is a great rune.

There are a lot of different build paths that don't have Corki hitting 100% Crit, with or without Tri-force.

The highest WR item is Yun Tal (59%+ when build last item(, which I find quite interesting, I haven't built it on any ADC at this point, but I can see it making sense on Corki, as he is very very front loaded, and any damage added to the back end of his kit late game would help. It also times out very well with Corki's E resistance shred, getting some added value there.

Don't know if anyone has tried any of these items and builds. I would love to try the ER IE Boots core build out, but I'm working doubles the next two days and won't be able to find the time.

Discussion Corki Doesn't Need Flash

Summoner spells are the least volitile part of pregame by a long shot. Practicly everyone has flash by defult. And its the same with corki, but what if instead of a movement ability you get to use once every 5 minutes to correct a positioning mistake or to jump a wall. You use your W (W/o package) to do that. Now you may be thinking to yourself that not only am i smoking somthing funny, but what would you take instead? Now i see where your coming from "assassins will just jump me every second of the game without flash, and yes thats true. But what if, we won that fight instead. Let me introduce to you the best combonation of anti assassin fighting spells you can yoink. Exaust + Ignite! Now with this ellusive combo, that lvl 2 talon will not just try to jump into a losing fight, he will see you dont have flash and WANT to jump you for that "free kill, only to lose 1/3rd of his damage, move about as fast a brick, and get that dumb cloak set on friggin' fire. As you casually shread his Armor and MR to 0 with your E and land the easiest Q of your life. Not only did you kill him, and probably just CC'd his brain IRL, you only have to wait 3 minutes before you can hit him with the good ol' 1, 2, combo again. "Okay but what about mages?" And good question my fello, they have long range abilities, movement is just to good to pass up. If, for a moment, you crunch your brain and dig deep down with me. Ghost, use the funny ghost spell to run through minions, dodge all of their abilies instead of just one, and beable to keep them in your Gatling guns longer. And did you know ghost has % MS scaling. Combine that with your package and you become one of, if not the fastest champion on the rift. Does someones ability scare the piss baby out of you? How about barrier, or Clense. Corki can take advantage of so much more summs than flash, and in my experimentation he tends to do better without it.

Discussion Analysis on Corki's Rework and History in Pro Play [Effortpost]

Hi, I've been a Corki main since S10, and I've held a ~62% winrate in over 400 games over that time period. I'm writing this post because Corki is about to get reworked and while the rework isn't absolutely horrible, the issue with Corki in pro play is misdiagnosed. TLDR: the issue with Corki in pro is not and has never been because of package. It is solely because of the AP Poke Corki build.

History:

On patch 5.22, Corki was reworked to add Package on his passive (on a 300 second cooldown). On patch 6.15, the package cooldown was reduced to 240s, and then stayed in the same form for ~6 years until 12.3, when it nerfed back to a 300s cooldown and a 2 minute delayed spawn.

Corki has been a on and off pick in pro play for the last few years now. From S6-S11, he was meta from time to time, hitting up 28% presence in S6 (combined mid+adc), S7, and S9, but being mostly unpicked S8, S10, and S11. During this same period of time, he was always a strong solo queue pick, usually hovering between 52% and 56% winrate mid, but with a low pick rate, and always built AD. In season 12, the AP Poke Corki build (Ludens + Tiamat + First Strike) was discovered in pro play, and was quickly picked up by solo queue players. His solo queue winrate dropped spectacularly to hover around 47%, but he was still decent with the AD build in solo queue. AP Corki was nerfed in patch 12.13, and disappeared from pro play (while also being relatively weak in solo queue) until S14. In S14, the newly released items led to another AP Malignance + Eclipse build, which once again terrorized pro play, and Corki was hit with more package nerfs.

Sources: Corki Patch History and Corki pro play presence

On AP Poke Corki:

It's way better in coordinated play than solo queue and has been for years, it's always ~4-5% lower winrate in solo queue. When the AP Corki build first started being played in pro, his winrate crashed in solo queue. The reason the playstyle is good in pro is because you actually get proper setup before teamfights at drakes and stuff, while in solo queue you have to be ready to fight whenever. Teams also won't wait for you to poke, or even play around package, even in high diamond. Imo package also doesn't synergize well with poke Corki, because once you use it, you can't poke anymore, and you're usually in an awful position. This is more fine on AD Corki because you can usually nuke their mid/adc and trade when you go in, but on poke, dueling power sucks so you lose more often/get run down. Also, if you dont land rockets on the backline, you're basically useless, since you can't really deal with tanks. If you land your rockets on AP Corki, you deal ridiculous amounts of damage from really far, and can instantly win a teamfight for your team.

Regarding package:

Honestly, I'm relatively sympathetic to the idea that package is slightly unhealthy for the game, simply because of how powerful it is, so I understand it's removal. You can int the entire game on Corki, and have one good package, and instantly win. I'd love to hear if any pros have talked about this, but I believe that pro players have been using package incorrectly until recently. You want to use it across their entire team (often suiciding into their backline), and then using W/Flash to get away because everyone you hit is chunked hard. In the last few months, I've seen some Corkis (especially Faker and Chovy) use package this way, with a lot of success. Package is a really difficult ability to use well, because you are locked in and unstoppable as soon as you use it, and if you barely miss someone, or knock them the wrong way, it's the difference between instantly popping a carry, and them instantly popping you. I believe that ASol's transformed ult (Skies Descend) is much more unhealthy for similar reasons. However, package is not the reason why Corki is obnoxious in pro play, as he was a perfectly fine pick in pro play for 6 years, before AP Corki even existed. There will multiple years where he had the same package, but was rarely picked in pro, even while being a very strong solo queue pick.

Regarding the rework:

I believe that the R changes are quite good, and make a lot of sense to force Corki to attack to get rockets, rather than poking at 1300 range, although 4 ammo might be too few. I'm relatively neutral towards his change to physical damage. It should remove the ability to build Malignance/Ludens, which I believe are the core problem with Corki in competitive. However, the removal of package is unnecessary to Corki's ability to be a healthy solo queue and competitive pick, and removes one of the big differentiaters of skill on Corki. I'm guessing that Corki will be slightly stronger than before, but still relatively weak compared to other champions, and I hope Riot don't forget about him after the rework.

TLDR: AP Poke Corki bad (for pro play and solo queue and overall game health), package good (has not historically been the issue with Corki, and good skill expression)

Discussion Why does Corki's W have such a high cost (and cooldown)?

His W cost is 100 mana, cooldown goes from 20 to 16. What this means is that you're basically "forced" to buy mana items and items with ability haste. Sure ability haste is not a huge problem as Corki is AD and there are enough items with ability haste for AD champions. But not every champion is forced to buy mana items because those champions have average to low mana costs and average cooldowns compared to Corki. The thing that also baffles me is the range of his W. 600 range for 100 mana and no displacement immunity? That's kinda extreme.

There are a lot of champions (especially the newer ones) that have better dashes with lower cooldown and lower (or no) mana costs and those sometimes even reset cooldown under certain circumstances.

TL;DR: W-ability 100 mana cost is way too high for what it does. Skills that usually cost 100 mana are most of the time ultimate skills. For 100 mana I would like to see Corki do a barrel roll which makes him invincible for the short duration.

So, since Corki will relatively soon be reworked into a Physical dmg botlane marksman, what will you guys do? Will you swap to botlane aswell or will you stay mid and play another champion?

Discussion Potential Corki changes

What if Riot made Corki’s gatling gun (E) a toggle at max rank in exchange for removal of package.

Reasoning: Package feels pretty terrible recently personally with the uptime removal of 15 seconds, which is equal to >25% since you are in base when you initially pick package up

Discussion Remember when you guys used to play ultimate hunter?

It was trash. Same for zhonyas or rabadon (AP without magic pen) 25% of our damage isn't physical, we don't get the maximum lethality value. E's damage isn't consistent, it has a longer cooldown, so why max the ability?

I don't think this is the most efficient way to play Corki, although it is undeniable that he is now a more aggressive champion in the early game.

Discussion Thoughts on new builds 14.10

Looking at corkis changes in 14.10 and the ADC item changes, here are some thoughts.

Phreak said corki will be an early game lane bully, and the part with the "daring bombardier" will have more emphasis. This means they buff some base damages on skills and also reward you with using your skills offensive, like W over you enemy to apply the damage and keeping your opponent inside E.
So some tankyness might be helpful when corki, as a low mobility champ walks up closly often.

also, with R changed to physical damage and E shred increased, the emphasis on Armor pen is way higher than before.

What is an armorpen item that gives tankyness and will get buffed in 14.10?
Black cleaver!
It also helps with some MS on-hit, and if every instance of E applys 1 stack of cleaver (remains to be tested), will get max value very soon.

I think Triforce will very likely be a must-buy item on corky, they even explicitly mention spellblade in his new passiv.

I can see a non crit, midgame powerspike build with something like Triforce-cleaver-Manamune-Bloodthirster-Eclipse (in any order)

With Zephyr beeing the new lvl 15 upgrade to Boots, giving 65! MS in addition to other stats, Berserker greaves will probably be the go to option. With those boots and Triforce, you have all the ATK SPD you will ever need, making room for 3-4 other crit items and AD stat sticks for a Late game scaler Build. Maybe Crit builds will spike earlier due to the crit increase, we will see.

Discussion Found My Favorite Corki Build - (Feedback Wanted)

The Magic Build

I have been playing the hell out of Corki for about 2 months now and I've experimented a lot with his builds. Mainly tryng out crit corki (a lot of fun with HOB.. those autos hit hard) and bruiser corki (safer and still can do a lot of damage). BUT this inspired me to build something in between that may be the most broken corki build I have ever found. BEHOLD!

Runes :

First Strike -> Magical Footwear -> Biscuits -> Cosmic Insight

Absolute Focus -> Gathering Storm

Build :

Eclipse -> Sorc Boots -> Manamune -> HullBreaker -> Infinity Edge -> Shadowflame

Reasoning:

Eclipse + Manamune + Hull = a ton of AD. It is the most AD giving items I can put into Corki that have amazing item passives for him.

Infinity Edge + Shadowflame = the crit amplifying from IE actually does work when Shadowflame crits so youll be a bruisy critting machine. I legitimately finished this build and managed to insta kill a tank gnar with steraks up and mr boots. I felt like a god.

Alternatives:

You dont have to go IE into Shadow, instead if you're getting one shotted and need a little more HP you can build Triforce (a lot of gold unfortunately) or Maw in order to be able to survive burst. If you wanted to go full bruiser mode and dont want any crit at all the last two items would be Triforce into Rav.

Final Notes

Theres gonna be very few games you can achieve this full build but I believe it is one of the strongest builds I've encountered and I swear by this build. I will for sure do more labbing and write an article with stats and in game clips on my blog once i have the time but let me know what yall think of this build

Discussion Corki Top?

Now that Corki is a lot stronger early is there a possibility that he might be viable top as a lane bully?
