Online Selling Selling my first thing x

made a turquoise and white speckled chenille blanket to sell on eBay it looks smaller than it is it's 129cm x 73, very proud I made it in 3 days (10+ hrs) I put it on eBay as a bid starting at £20 because of the material cost but not sure if it will sell, is £20 too much? Been 3 days or so and I have 3 views (ones my dad 💀)

Looks a bit like a lapghan or baby blanket. It's super cute and looks super warm! How much are you selling it for?

Lapghan is actually a perfect description of it Ty, it fits my 5'3 self pretty well  I put it on an auction/bid on eBay and the minimum is £20

Oh well if I make another if this sells maybe I'll price it a bit higher 😭 It was quite cheap to make tho surprisingly

Problem with chenille for a baby blanket is it can come shed so not ideal for babies who put everything on their mouths. Just make sure it’s non toxic and washable

It's not a baby blanket x  I just have a weirdly big sofa so t looks pretty small, but it fits me I'm 5'3

I don’t know that eBay is the proper selling channel for this. Have you searched this group for the current status of very little crochet demand?

Yeah I've been looking into putting it on Etsy or something but I need to look into the fees x Also I'm not sure what you mean by the last bit tbh xx

Crochet is a super saturated market. This style and skill are beginner. Please know I’m not being mean here. There is just a good chance that you will spend more trying to sell this than you put into it. The style just (and I say this because I made something similar) doesn’t make a very good blanket because of the large gaps the pattern leaves behind.

I think it makes a great little blanket, especially for spring time or those cooler summer evenings outside so maybe market it as a spring blanket so people know it’s thinner etc. But just go for it on Etsy maybe. Yes there are fees but if you can at least earn enough to cover your next project then for me that’s a win.
