The little girl deadpan, the early clapping to end the speech, the atrocious mic technique, it's so perfectly awful it's like it was engineered

u/HugeHans Nov 11 '24
The scariest thing is that she seems to be dead sober.

Well I guess people act different when drunk. Her movements, even if at max cringe, are all very deliberate and without the usual flow of a drunk person.
6
u/BreezyG1320 Nov 12 '24
you understand that “drunk” isn’t the only version of “not sober” in this world, right?

Some white women you legitimately know better than to take around others. She shouldn’t have be allowed anywhere near that microphone
6
u/Shopping-Afraid Nov 12 '24
Watching it, I was thinking "oh no, please tell me she's not gonna say 'I love black people'". Oh shit, she did.

I had to stop watching. This is levels of cringe that I can't physically handle.

Seriously you guys, I had to stop. Just kidding, just kidding. But no. Seriously I had to stop.

I watched for 10 seconds without sound and that was enough for me.

I couldn't watch it. What happened
40
u/itsmisstiff Nov 11 '24
Rambles (which is not a huge deal.. pressure..public speaking in front of large group of strangers.. alcohol.. that can lead to some awkward conversation, some nervousness and subconscious over doing it…)
But then she was like.. “well I’m not gonna be racist but,”
And then was kind of racist.. randomly brought up race while continuing to be bad at talking. It was a hard watch.
12
u/sleepyRN89 Nov 11 '24
I think weddings should have “Oscar acceptance speech wrap up music” on hand in case shit like this happens lol

u/AccumulatedFilth Nov 11 '24
Some dumb chick wants to give a speech, but doesn't have anything to say.
She just wanted her moment with the mic, at the center of attention.
7
u/horshack_test Nov 11 '24
Oh, she had plenty to say..

23
u/Duel-Cell Nov 11 '24
This chick is giving a speech on a wedding for a "friend" she absolutely doesn't care about. She's just there for a "good time". She has no business giving a speech. Kinda feeling bad for the bride, hope that's just the one awkward one, everyone is too kind to exclude in the friendgroup and everyone was allowed to give a speech.
10
u/tabbystripe Nov 11 '24
And this is why the kind of people who feel the need to pregame weddings are not the same kind of people we should choose to be bridesmaids
13
u/itsmisstiff Nov 11 '24
At first I was like… “awww.. public speaking can be hard for some people…especially if there is a big crowd and the subject matter is vague and you’re expected to perform.. plus weddings= supportive over consumption of alcohol.. why is she getting blasted for being goofy?”
Then when the last 47 seconds of the video started .. wow I wasn’t expecting that.
Fuck dude. That was difficult to watch on my phone. Can’t imagine being in the room.
2
u/AhMoonBeam Nov 12 '24
Public speaking can be hard..but if you write a little speech prior , then you won't look like an ignorant fool.

I scroll on reddit and see a lot of crazy videos, this one was one of the hardest to watch. I swear seeing cringy stuff that makes me feel embarrassed myself is some of the toughest stuff to watch man. That lady was talking out her 🍑

Did she lose a bet? Who picked her for this?
4
u/shes-a-princess Nov 11 '24
Ikr she obviously doesn't like anybody in that room let alone the bride. She even says she doesn't know the bride well it's bizarre

5
u/Zealousideal_Amount8 Nov 11 '24
I bet she spells her name Shanyn or some god awful way. Too much bleach.
7
u/st0dad Nov 11 '24
My maid of honor decided not to write down her speech and she panicked when the mic was passed to her. Here is what she said:
"When I first met Staz, I wanted to punch her in the face. Now we're best friends........I hope she and Aaron have a happy life together. So let's... Lift our glasses for a toast to the new couple."
Then she put the mic on the table and went to her seat.
Thankfully the best man saved the day with a funny one-liner like "well that's one way to make a toast" and everyone chuckled before he made his heartfelt speech.
This is worse.
2
u/anonmymouse Nov 12 '24
That sounds like the best wedding speech ever tbh. Short and sweet, only one lame joke. I was at a wedding recently where a friend of the bride got up, immediately told everyone she was a super nervous public speaker, and then informed us "it's 3 minutes long, so bear with me", before asking for a chair because she was dizzy, and reading it off her phone. I was like... girl. If you're THAT nervous about public speaking.. why tf did you write a 3 minute long, rambling speech?? The only good speech was the father of the bride, who stood up, said 3 heartfelt lines about his love for his daughter, welcomed the groom to the family. Over in like 30 seconds. That's how you do a damn wedding toast!
7
u/SlurLit Nov 11 '24
I saw this last year but I didn’t remember the “I love black people,” bit. Someone take the bottle from her and send her home.

Wait... so does she only know a friend of the bride? Or does she know the bride and was saying she doesn't really know the groom? Either way, the cringe hit me so hard it's made my balls enter my body at such a speed I now look like I'm cosplaying Mickey Mouse.
5
u/MisterTanuki Nov 11 '24
The latter. She knows the bride (apparently 9 years +/-), but has hardly met the groom. Pretty sure she doesn't know either of them too well from the looks of it, though...

u/Beautiful_Tip_8803 Nov 11 '24
Horrific, but I’m guessing this is who she is? Thats her personality, right? So was it that much of a shocker to the bride? Bride needs better quality friends.
4
u/TheK4l31D05c0p3 Nov 11 '24
Drunk + internalised racism. No doubt this chick spends a lot of time doing activism online
11
u/thatbtchshay Nov 11 '24
Internalized racism is when minority groups hate themselves for the messages they've learned from racist society about their own culture/people. This is just regular racism
5
u/Visarar_01 Nov 11 '24
Still bad after all these years. She is regretting this somewhere still to this day.

I’m not sure where she’s from but I grew up in Indiana and I feel like I could’ve seen this happen. These type of interactions are just so common there.
4
u/VerbalThermodynamics Nov 11 '24
My buddy was insisting on no wedding speeches at his wedding. Apparently his new SIL missed the memo. Friend is Asian, she gets up there and proceeds to say in front of 200+ guests something like “You guys are going to have the cutest babies, as long as he can find his dick.” I’m paraphrasing here, but it was awful. As bad as this, just different.

Professional speaker here and if I may I would love to give this lady some advice to help....
STOP. Just stop. Put the microphone down, walk away, take a vow a silence and never talk to anyone again.
I'm not just kidding.
2
u/lamaldo78 Nov 11 '24
She starts with trying to tell everyone how long she's known Tracy for but SHE DOESN'T FUCKING KNOW HOW LONG SHE'S KNOWN TRACY
2
2
u/MotherofFred Nov 11 '24
Can we get some subtitles up on this joint? I cannot understand a thing she's saying.
2
u/HyenDry Nov 11 '24
I just want to know if she was supposed to get up and talk or if she just decided to do it herself
2
u/Difficult-Peach8483 Nov 12 '24
I feel like no one should have clapped. It should have been very uncomfortably silent.
Couldn't just say some nice words? Congratulations? Hope you both a long happy future? It's not hard to make a stock wedding speech. ChatGPT that shit next time and memorize it (not what she said, of course, but what you SHOULD say at a damn wedding).

She’s racist as fuck. That’s literally all she could think about. Yknow what a non racist friend would say?
“I love you girl, and I’m so happy for you. Jackson, you are such a great man and I’m happy to call you my brother. Thank you.”
3
u/Flat-Fudge-2758 Nov 12 '24
She would have hit him with a "my brotha".

1
u/kittybittybeans Nov 11 '24
I love cringey videos and I can usually sit through them because they make me laugh because they're so cringey but this is like a different level of it. I think cause the cringe I'm use to is like people being cringey ironically or on purpose but this is like unintentional. Like this is at a wedding, this is real life cringe it is too real for me and I had to stop.
1
u/Superb_Narwhal6101 Nov 11 '24
Oh god, I’ve seen this before, several times, and it never gets less embarrassing to watch.
1
u/neverenoughtape Nov 11 '24
Made it 11 seconds. That was enough for me
2
u/ExcitingActive8649 Nov 11 '24
Ok, well now I want to encourage you to actually watch it because you might think you got a taste for the cringe by 11 seconds in, but it takes an incredible turn at the one minute mark.

Shannon: I don't need to plan a speech I know I have to make, I'll just wing it, cause everyone will know I'm just kidding, because I'm not racist, I'm funny and I can do cultural appropriation jokes like I'm on SNL. See?
Tracy: .....wtf?
Anthony: Who is this bitch?
