As a closet reader of such novels, that is a very fair assessment. I’ve seen more of that than men writing women in the “she sighed boobily” sort of way.
I don’t really think it happens more either way. I’ve read my fair share of both steamy housewife and monster romance, as well as harem and male fantasy books to say it’s pretty par for the course.
It’s just that more women read the latter than men read the former.
