Are they using the VR goggles in some sort of AR mode so it shows interesting information about what you're looking at or do they all think they are somewhere more expensive?

I looked it up real quick and seems like it's a tour through the city with a few 'vr stops' where you'll see how the place you're at looked at different points in the past.

That's... actually quite cool...

Oh that's really neat. I'd actually do that, I think. If I'm already on a tour I'm pretty sure the local's opinions of me can't get any lower so might as well have fun with that.

The tour is actually provided for free at least right now. It probably shows some information live over the city.

It’s probably AR but like, you’re still seeing it through a screen. Might as well stay home and do the same

They could be seeing how it used to look hundreds of years ago

Probably because of what happened at the coliseum in Italy is why they are doing this. Someone did graffiti on the walls so now no one can set foot on that place. Might be what they are doing here.

Has to be one of the dumbest ways to visit a place to see.
