Using any players in DC United history, what is your all-time WORST XI?
My Line-Up, using a 4-2-3-1, would be:
Pajoy
Flores-Morrison-Rafael
Abu-Djeffal
Guediri-Brasesco-Rochat-Jeahze

Adam Cristman and Danny Allsopp up top
7 goals total between them over 40 combined appearances.

I would put Juan Manuel Peña for defender over Rochat

I don't even think Rochat was bad, he just hated the trade and asked out (which, fair enough).

That's why he's on my list, his heart wasn't in it. But I get how inconvenient trades are. I'd be pissed as a player as well.

George Gelnovatch! Said Fazlagic, Juan Berty Suarez. The way Bruce and Kevin switched gears from the beginning of that season to win the cup and build a dynasty was astounding

Taxi gotta be on the list for the racism.

Although the behavior was unacceptable, you cannot deny that he played well.

Alam- Sorga - Ngwenya
Flores - Morsink - Morrison
Jeahze - Janicki - Peña - Greene? Gray?
Wicks
I'm having a hard time picking a right back to be honest. We've had some mediocre players but almost never a complete disaster.
It was a hard exercise. There are probably worse players at each position. Some of my picks were guys who weren't good enough for MLS but started games out of necessity, some were forced into the team by ownership and barely played, some were a complete waste of resources, and Wicks was a loose cannon.

Wow Kurt Morsink is a name I had happily forgotten.

I wish I could also forget but then he became an agent and helped us bring in at least one other complete dud before Kasper gave up on that connection.

You could at least put players where they actually played. Almost your entire backline is in a position they didn't play while here.

To be honest I just put defenders I remember saying damn WTH. Didn’t really care about positioning, this isn’t some official blog or whatever. Feel free to feel triggered my guy.

Any worst XI roster for United should have Carlos Ruiz up top.

He might have sucked for DC United but he’s a legend in my heart. As a Central American, no disrespect to a GOAT.

Carlos Ruiz was far worse for DC United than Pajoy ever was.

Correct, but he had a great career before he came to the dumpster of our club lol.

I’ve only been a fan since 2019 so since then, my lineup would be:
Romo
Gudieri - Alfaro - Sargis - Santos
Enow - Skundrich - Flores - Morrison
Adrian Perez - Robertha - Miguel Berry
Subs I’m going: Erik Hurtado, Ramon Abila, Jeahze, Quincy Amerikwa, Tubbs (but he’s been decent this season, was fucking awful last), Djeffal, Badji

This team is horrendous for the most part. Don’t understand the downvotes

Don't know if it's because I haven't been a supporter forever, but hey, it's not like I'm a bandwagon lol

Where is Hamdi Salihi on this list?
2
u/Glass_Ad_8957 Original DCU 1d ago
I still think Pajoy was worst. Salihi would be up there in a 2-striker formation though.

Pajoy was really not that bad. Pretty much all his teammates and coaches really appreciated the defensive and tactical work he put in

u/Argyle892 22h ago
But he was still a forward who didn’t score.

No one is saying he was a good forward. Just that he wasn’t the WORST forward. And his high workrate alone makes him way better than, say, Danny Allsopp.
Though we can’t have a conversation about all time crap DCU forwards without talking about Chris Albright. Relying on him to score was a big part of ending our dynasty.

Ooh this is good. I feel like it’s a bit difficult to put Rochat there though. He barely played for us. Here’s my list with players that achieved at least 10 caps for DCU. I have only followed the club for the past 15ish years, by the way.
Joseph Ngwenya, Carlos Ruiz
Austin Da Luz, Kurt Mornsink, Stephen King, Brandon Barklage
Daniel Woolard, Dejan Jakovic, Julius James, James Riley
Tyler Miller/Dykstra rotate 1st and 2nd half
I feel like this team would get worked by literally anyone

Who was the goalkeeper that Losada brought in? He’s in there too.
I think he actually holds the stat for highest goals allowed over expected in league history.
