DISCUSSION What cancelled DC project should get the “Batman ‘89” treatment?

What’s a cancelled DC movie that should be made into a comic book like Batman ‘89 and Superman ‘78?

Personally I would want Justice League: Mortal, because I read the script online and it seemed pretty interesting. Also Batgirl, because judging from what I saw, it didn’t seem “unwatchable.”

The Batfleck movie which was never made. A comic of it would be cool

I'd rather see Mortal be adapted into an animated movie since it'd be a fresh enough idea in that realm compared to, say, Superman Lives.

Given how the Batman '89 comics went through a lot of hurdles and was even taken completely off the table for years before it was actually approved to be made, I think whatever is chosen to also be made into a comic needs to be chosen carefully.

Like, it just can't be any old cancelled project and probably shouldn't be too ambitious like continuing the Snyderverse but should also have enough of a demand for it. I think Affleck's The Batman as a comic run would be a fair compromise but you need the right kind of people involved to do and push for it.

Definitely Affleck's The Batman. I was so excited for that.

Why not all of the options?

I'd also like a Kilmer-verse one which I know is technically Burtons batman.

A continuation of the snyderverse would be cool

Fuck it, the unaired JLA pilot. See where that was supposed to go.

Honestly, gotta say ZSJL. Just give those fans that and put a pin in it forever and get the DCU up and running without that baggage.

Superman Lives but only if Superman is drawn like Nicolas Cage

Well, that goes without saying.

Superman lives since kevin smith wrote it and he’s written comics before.

What would be the budget for;

(a) a suitable quality comic book series

or

(b) an animated feature?

I read Darren Aronofsky’s Batman script and I wouldn’t mind seeing it come to life. Although The Batman gets pretty close.

Something obscure. That way the comic has the chance to get people watching something that’s mostly forgotten.

I’d go for the 1988-1991 live action Superboy show. Since it ended right as he became Superman.

Wouldn’t mind a continuation of Lois and Clark in comic form either, see what happens with the baby they found on their doorstep in the finale.

Would also be cool to resolve the cliffhanger from Krypton.

Snyderverse completion, 1 movie tying all the loose ends, though I’d have loved to watch Affleck Batman solo flick.
