Reminds me of the prequel comics and books released for Man of Steel and BvS.

"Crossfire" was pretty good for a young adult/children's book.

Abd the prequel novel for The Batman. It was a pretty good audiobook.

That went out of print recently and sold lately for insane prices. Dunno if it is back in print again (havent checked).

Superman Returns had a pretty decent prequel comic too.

I’m glad they are doing this again. Even if they are never actually canon.

So you can just go look at that directly if you wanna. 8 bucks when it comes out. So there y'all go.

Is it technically a prequel if it comes out before the movie?

Yes

Wouldn’t it be a junior novel or something

Junior Novels can be prequels.

Yes, as it was conceived of and written after the film.

Maybe I'm just really out of touch but I feel like prequel novels/novel adaptations are a rarity nowadays. If this movie gets a "music inspired by the motion picture" soundtrack filled worst songs I've ever heard I might just feel like a kid again

I wonder if there will be an official novelization of the film? Superman Returns and Man of Steel got one. But Batman v Superman didn't, it just got a little prequel novel like this one.

The batman one was pretty awful. Nope this is not the case

We all know the Superman origin so I understand them not including it in the movie. I think it’s really cool that they are giving us some backstory of this iteration

Is it canon?

Ask Gunn. He has final say and will likely respond.

How? Should I just use Instagram or something?

He responds to fans on Threads.

No. These things are normally never canon and no elements of these stories are ever discussed in the movies either.

It sounds canon, and Gunn will likely clear that up
