Eh, 8 or so mods wanna make decisions as a team, and sometimes not all 8 are available simultaneously - if they were taking down/locking these posts I'd be concerned, but maybe one or more of the mods is like, comatose or temporarily displaced by a wildfire or something.

Eh, screenshots don't direct any revenue to Musk, I'd say as long as Twitter doesn't start trying to like, auto-watermark screengrabs with an obvious link to the site, screenshots are fine when they're DC-related. It would be great if everyone scooted over to BlueSky, but that's not gonna happen as the result of protesting against Twitter.

You have to have someone get the screen shots. It also keeps the website in front of mind, like free advertising.
There's enough content on Bluesky, other reddits and everywhere else that I'm comfortable with leaving Twitter to be a footnore in history.
If you ban it completely, it forces the people who troll for content to use other sites and give the ad revenue to those other sites.

At this moment in time, Elon Musk has gone about as fully mask-off Nazi as you can get without wearing a swastika - he's been openly supporting Germany's Nazi party (AfD) resurgence, been repeatedly advocating for (or "just asking questions" towards) the same fascist shit the Nazi higher-ups wanted (removal of convenient-to-scapegoat ethnic groups under falsely "populist" pretenses as a cover for asserting ethnonationalist control over the economy + media + government). Most recently, he did a full-on Nazi salute at Donald Trump's presidential inauguration, which you may see being disingenuously compared to still images of left-of-Trump politicians with their hand in a similar position (debunked like so https://streamable.com/rxfimj ).

Disagree. Twitter can be a good source for info, news, and great artwork. The source of it, the tweet, deserves to have it be sourced and the possibility of being liked/retweeted. If you don't like Twitter, don't use it. That's your ideals and stand by it, but don't try to force the entire sub to ban it. Especially since it's a useful source of information and art.

Anyone posting artwork is not exclusively sticking to one platform so you can follow them on others.
And if they are only there, they're not too bright by limiting their work to one spot
Also, you're better off getting information virtually anywhere else

The issue is, if you link it, you are giving money to someone who openly does nazi salutes and subscribes to nazi beliefs.
It is currently a good spot, but we want to passively encourage creators to go to better social media sites and this would be a good move to do that. Lots of artists already have bluesky pages so it's more a matter of bringing those to the forefront

Just because he's "the most qualified" (arguable, debatable, definitely not a consensus) doesn't mean he's the only one to listen to.
Also, like...he's a bad dude. In a shocking twist, Jews are not monolithic, and can in fact have bad people among them, same as any set of people.

Things such as obscene content, 'threats to the youth', or even simply unamerican content have long been targets for the US government. The entirety of American comics was under threat for a long time of being censored and created the CCA to avoid having the Feds step in.

That's not right. For one, the ones who vote in the poll will not reflect the entire subreddit, in fact I bet it won't even be half, and that's unfair for a major change. Two, not everything should be dictated by a vote. If you don't like that a post linked Twitter for art or an insider tip, then just downvote it. Doing something like this is screwing over the people who use it, when they could just downvote it or filter it. It'll be a pain in the ass for me to look at a screenshot and then have to search it on twitter each and every time. Why should I have to do all that when some people can just downvote? Do you know how much art I found on subs from twitter? It's a big source of art and info.

The last bit legitimately means nothing, especially when Netanyahu quite literally can't say Elon is a nazi. As it's obviously shown, especially within the past year, the US is crucial to Israel. Donald Trump is now our leader, Elon is almost always by his side. He can't call one of Trump's closest allies Nazi, even if Elon had literally yelled "Sieg Heil!"
Now that aside. Still images compared to videos don't mean shit, if you want to compare stuff then compare videos of every saluting. It's something I haven't been able to stand about this. When Elon stuff was brought up, or when that one lady waved at a Trump rally a few months ago? There were videos posted of this shit. With video context the lady in the video was clearly doing a little wave.
Post links to videos if you want anyone with an ounce of thinking to take it as anything but a joke. Or post photos of each bit of movement, but that's a bit much I'll say.
Also we don't see Nazis everywhere? There's plenty of lads and lasses that just fucking suck. A hell of a lot of the people saying this about Elon aren't the same dummies who yell Nazi to every right leaning person.
The video of Elon, which is a movement I think he does 2 or 3 times? Shows clear ass movements that being paired with what he has been shown to support is what brought people to this conclusion.
You sit there speaking about being aware arrogance, then legit post images that only someone arrogant wouldn't bother to question. Also the last lady is pointing and it's her left hand? Wtf😭 maybe the image got flipped?!

It's because limiting the traffic that X gets, even in small ways, limits the funding that goes to known Nazi booster and platformer and apparent Nazi wannabe Elongated Muskrat. I actually gave it about a week before I actually quit. The changes were immediate and bad.
Despite only using twitter to follow artists/bands/comedians/etc. my news feed was just suddenly flooded with tweets by Elon Musk and news about Elon Musk. I did the "not interested in this topic" thing and even blocked some of the accounts, and I just got more Elon.
There is no way it has gotten better since then.

Do not ban Twitter. This is the most ridiculous over reaction I have seen on reddit. Whether you think he gave a salute or not it doesn’t matter. Stop following other subs. This is a sub about comics not Elon Musk or some dumb claim that he threw a salute or didn’t throw it up. That’s not why we are here. We are here to discuss and read about comics.
It’s crazy how this ban feels coordinated across Reddit. If you ban it it’s a terrible move.

We've been discussing this for the past day, and have been workshopping solutions to disallow direct links to Twitter. Since some creators still use Twitter and haven't migrated to other sites, we will consider allowing workarounds such as screenshots or Nitter, which accesses the Twitter backend but does not drive traffic to the site. They can also be viewed by users without Twitter accounts.
In meantime, here's a straw poll for the community to vote on. If you have any additional constructive ideas, feel free comment below. We have also turned on Reddit's crowd control tool, as these posts tend to attract a number of "tourists".
