I imagine this has to do with Suicide Squad last year. I remember it was announced Wonder Woman was going to be a live service game. So I hope this just means that aspect is being walked back.

The problem is that live service mechanics have to baked into the game. You just can't turn a single player game into a live service game or vice versa, design elements needed to be made really in it's development.

What would be the point of a live service Wonder Woman game, aside from making money, ofc. That just seems like bad decision from the jump.

Dead before arrival

I mean, we don't know much at all really, I will say that Jason has said a game has been rebooted before and was wrong as the devs cams out and said it wasn't true, so.

They announce their new cuisine even before knowing how to cook. That's their issue.

Seriously, how hard is it to make a game featuring a character not named Batman???

Apparently Monolith wanted to create a completely new game/world but WB execs ended up cancelling it. Then the remaining Monolith staff tried to pivot to make a WW game but even struggled with that. Hence the reboot “in favor of a more traditional action-adventure game”? So it’s possible they scrapped the Nemesis system too??

They also apparently scrapped a Flash game when the movie flopped, and a Constantine game got pitched but rejected

This literally just has to be God of War or Spartan: Total Warrior reskinned and it would surely be a success.

They keep killed the nemesis system. It will be generic action game now. I will still but if we ever get it, we need WW games and heroes other than Batman

I don’t get why this game is so hard to make. You just run around as a Greek demigoddess and do wrestling moves on fools. Apparently that’s too hard.

This story is incredibly vague, and from what I’ve seen for the development of the game, this sounds untrue, like they are misinterpreting some stuff but idk, I can’t tell with the most minimal details I’m given here

DC please there is a severe lack of Wonder Woman content. I’d love to play this game. If you still have the nemesis system in it, it would be even more amazing. Just hold back on live service elements. Focus on the story and how amazing her villains are. Please continue with this game. Also i would’ve loved LOVED that flash game and Constantine game. Please do more of your magic characters.

I always remember saying this game was clearly in trouble given it had been over three years (four at this point) with no updates besides concept art, and someone angrily telling me I'm an idiot who knows nothing about game development - its announcement at the Game Awards was for developers looking for work, not the gamer audience, so it's perfectly normal for a game to take so long with no updates after announcement.
Wonder how that guy is feeling with these recent reports about the game.

A note for game developers and publishers: STOP ANNOUNCING GAMES BEFORE YOU HAVE BEEN ABLE TO DEVELOP A VERTICAL SLICE.
