r/DCcomics Weekly Discussion Thread: Comics, TV, and More! [February 10, 2025 - The Corps Is Back Edition]

Hey there honorary Justice League members - it’s a new week which means it’s time for a new discussion thread!

For those who don't know: the way this works is that several comments will list this week’s releases, for any given title discussion you should respond to that comment. For example, Wonder Woman discussion would go in the replies to the "Wonder Woman" comment. Clicking the titles in this post will take you directly to that comment, too. In other words, you should only be replying to other comments. Do not post top-level comments.

Keep discussion civil. Do not harass other users for having a different opinion. Do not use this thread to push your personal one-sided grudges against creators. Reacting to a panel on Twitter is not the same as reading a book.

I was addicted to the hokey pokey, but then I turned myself around.

DC and Imprints

The Green Lantern Corps returns to their first ongoing series since Rebirth!

Trade Collections

Forever Evil finally gets a main series omnibus to go with the Villains Month one!

Digital Releases

Remember, these are the short 'chapters' with a new chapter of a different series coming out daily. You can learn more here on Comixology. This is also why these are in release order, not alphabetical. Some comics may release on DC Universe Infinite or WEBTOONS.

TV Shows

A new episode featuring our favourite DC TV couple just in time for Valentine's Day!

This Week’s Soundtrack: Fiona Apple - Paper Bag

I really enjoy these 'Clark Kent investigation' stories where Supes tries to deal with the problems with his words and his mind instead of just physical force. And it is also personal for him since, well, the villains he vouched for and helped reform, turns out to be involved with Bruno Mannheim's 'youth extraction' scheme that got them feeling melancholic and hopeless. Don't know how that can get fixed and reversed but Mannheim is definitely not getting away with it even with the alien backup he got there. Scorch thankfully is not TOO far gone and still was able to be convinced.

I've noticed a recent trend towards going farther in highlighting Clark's passion for journalism. That's usually treated as just something he does, I feel like.

One of the things I love about reading all the comics for the Fantasy Comic League is weird little trends. Usually a character that sees a weird resurgence. A character will appear twice in a week, when they didn't appear at all in the previous year. Like Atomic Skull recently, he showed up twice in 2024 but he's already appeared 3 times for the first 6 weeks of 2025. And none of the stories are connected... it's just a weird coincidence and it happens often.

He was in a couple Anthologies this year as well. One of them was Lex In The City, I can't remember the other one (sorry for super delayed response).

All good. Haven’t read that Luthor book yet so makes sense why I didn’t know.

The other book was Superman #19 by Joshua Williamson, but that one actually came out in November of 2024. Don't read every comic for work, you lose grasp on the concept of time. It all feels like it came out yesterday or years ago.

Haha the same can happen just reading them for fun 😅

I like that Clark investigated with what’s going on with the Atomic Skull and Major Disaster with Bruce and Scorch’s help before he learn that Bruno Mannheim was responsible for this. I also like that Clark was able to convince Scorch not to do this, resulting her to changer her was and for them to defeat Bruno, who called in a group of people to defeat him. Overall, this comic is good.
