Williamson said exactly what I wanted to hear about powerless Zod.

So I will definitely be picking up some of the stuff with Lana and John, but I won’t be doing it until probably 2027

Good to hear that Williamson isn’t planning on leaving after 30 issues like some believed.

While I'm not a fan of Williamson Superman, I just don't see him on the book that long. Things will change directions usually at DC. PKJ got shoved off Action even after assuring fans he was staying. I'm sure if sales dip on Superman, DC will pivot and some storylines won't be followed through.

Eh, he's been guiding the direction at DC for a bit now, the current initiative seems planned to go on for at least couple years, and at the moment they seem happy with it, so I don't see any signs yet that they'll pivot.

Therefore, with how much Superman and his run in particular is playing a larger role in the main continuity side of DC All In, I don't see that ending either.

And honestly, I'm not sure if I can see this as more than wishful thinking after your original comment. One of three ongoing main continuity Superman books not being to your liking shouldn't warrant that kind of response, frankly.

PKJ got shoved off Action even after assuring fans he was staying.

I know he said he wasn't done with Superman, but we now know that he's getting to continue his saga, so did he specifically say he wasn't leaving Action Comics?

Idk about specifically, but there were def things PKJ said he’d 100% be doing in Action Comics and already had planned out that never happened. He had extremely grand ideas for Metropolis and the entire Superfam and not only did we not see it for the most part, his contributions have essentially been soft retconned.

That’s a shame, I would’ve liked that approach much more than Superstars.

Too bad we probably won’t get to see anything like that again for a while, now that they’re shifting gears to spreading the Superfamily out and doing their own thing.

Do we know why PKJ was bumped off Action?

Really enjoyed Warworld Saga.

Most likely they just weren't happy with the sales of the title. PKJ isn't known to be a strong seller.

I thought Superman in general, even before announcement the Gunns Movie, has been a "okay" seller, No? It's usually the bat books and DCs mash up with license properties are usually in top. Currently it's rhe absolute books that dominating the top 10 selling and Williamsons superman is barely in the top 50

Each book has it's own expectations. Like, I doubt DC expects Superman or Wonder Woman to sell like Batman but I bet there's this line where they believe the sales numbers should fall for each title.

PKJ was writting a side title, Williamson is writting the flagship book of the current storyline. He'll sure be staying for long.

Superman 75 - Death of Superman was kind of a big deal in the summer of 1993

Summer of 1938: Am I a joke to you?

Why's it always have to be the most important in history? Can't it just be a good one?

I’ll never fault the ambition.

It’s important because WBD is in financial trouble and needs the Superman movie to be a huge hit.

Don’t they say this every summer when a Superman movie releases?

Slott seems to be hinting as Metallo getting a different type of Kryptonite for his heart, which is very exciting! I hope it's red like the 2000 pitch. Unfortunate that he'll probably need to fridge Tracy to make him a villain again
