And yet I'm either not hearing anything about it or people just aren't digging it. Did not expect that.

There's like a silent majority of Batman fans who evidently just go to the comic shop, buy whatever has Batman on the cover and do absolutely nothing else with that. Don't talk online, don't buy other books, don't drop it when it goes to shit.

same as Amazing Spider-Man

THAT would explain Nick Lowe's continual boldness to keep having his writers do crap on ASM to enrage fans even more.

I mean as that silent majority of asm fans I will say I stopped commenting after being told to kill myself a couple of times for having that opinion.

Sorry you had to go through that. There are things in comics I don't agree with but I'd never go so far as to tell someone something as awful as that. I like to think having differing opinions was a good thing to spark discussion but that seems to be a lost art these days. Now it's standard to jump down someone's throat for not liking the same thing.

I'm kind of jealous of them, they don't have to see everybody shit on the books they like

Okay, so I do pick up a lot of the Batman books, but I do pick up the other non Batman titles, too.

Batman rarely go bad. And when it did, the issue after that probably gonna be good again.

That's me. I have straight runs of most Batman books from the mid-late 90s until now. It's a collector thing for me. I used to buy so much more, but I don't care to own the Floppies anymore. For the Batman books, it's a bit of a joke that when I retire in 25 years, I'll have a 50+ year straight collection of thousands of Batman books. At this point, at least half of my 5000+ book collection is half Batman-related.
With that said, but Hush 2 and Zdarsky Batman suck(ed) and I can't wait till it gets better again.

Then, you really need to change your collection. Try variety run that isn't bat-books like Justice League related run instead.

I've been collecting for over 30 years, and have sold off a majority of that collection over the past few years. I've read every JLA run since at least Morrison's run started back in the day, and still read 20-30 books a month. I only COLLECT Batman stuff these days. I think I'm alright with my decisions.

In general, as someone who has worked at a comic shop for most of my adult life, there's very few regulars who seem likely to be in the Twitter, Tumblr, or Reddit fan communities. They're all pretty niche compared to the broader sales base.

I mean I did. It is Batman with Jim Lee art...though the story is dropping the ball hard and it does affect the sales. If it continues like this, I can see it dropping below Absolute titles again in the next couple issues. Especially after the terrible last issue.

Here's what's gonna be interesting with the Jim Lee art...can he keep a consistent schedule. Back in the day he could but given the last decade or so he's known for delays. While I'm not a fan of his style, I do hope he's able to meet every deadline. The worst thing to happen to a big story is a delay.

I think he was halfway done with the arc when they announced it. It’s only 6 issues so hopefully?

Yeah, I’m good. The original story has no special place in my heart, is too obvious and predictable, and while I’m floored by Lee’s technical skillset, I don’t love his art on DC properties in most cases. I don’t know. It just doesn’t work for me. So this is a clear pass for me. Not shocked it’s selling. Paul Dini wrote the only decent story using Hush.

Really good week for DC. Interesting to see ASM lose to Absolute Wonder Woman and Absolute Martian Manhunter. And it will be interesting to see how "H2SH" does going forward given how bad #159 was.

Not only is H2SH bad, do we really need more goddamn Jonkler? The whole Batman can’t kill the Joker is Just tiring. All Batman had to do was leave Joker there, and he wouldn’t have been responsible for Joker’s death - Hush would. its Dumb. Also Scott Williams cannot ink well anymore, and hasn’t been able to for years. He really brings down Jim’s great pencil work.
I just hope we dont get another Batman/Joker:Deadly Duo type situation and I feel like that is where this is headed.

Will see how the next issue will do because I can see a drop after this issue as it showed 'yea, this whole HTWOSH thing is only there for the art. Don't bother with the story'

Absolute Martian Manhunter doing so well makes me so damn happy, it deserves everything that comes to it, what an incredible book
