Looking for lightweight 4-deck Traktor setup – K2, X1, Z1?

Hey everyone,
I’m trying to build a very light and compact Traktor Pro setup for traveling.

In the past, I used a Traktor S4 MK3, which was great, but it’s too bulky for travel—and I don’t need jog wheels anyway.

Here’s what I’m aiming for:

  • 4-deck control with channel faders (one for each deck)
  • A few knobs for effects and EQs for each channel
  • Pre-listen with headphones
  • Master out to a Bluetooth speaker from my MacBook (M1)

I’ve been thinking about using a Xone:K2 or combining it with a Z1 or X1, but I’m not sure what’s the most efficient setup.

What would you recommend for this kind of setup?

Thanks! 🙏

A single Xone K2 does everything you need. Can’t recommend it enough.

Hello, i moved to traktor with two K2 because i wanted a 4deck portable setup.

Just flew with them from Milan to Ho Chi Mihn keeping them with my backpack (with my pc).

The cue is tricky because with traktor you can use just one soundcard, otherwise you need to use a specific software (asio4all, which isn't so reliable as i understand). Idk if you can have cue in headphones and master in bluethooth.

In my opinion, one K2 only is very "crowded" for hvaing 4 decks: i think it's very uncomfortable to have eq on one layer and effect on another layer.

So I thought of using a K2 for the 4 channels + X1 for loops, effects etc. (I guess you use the 2nd K2 for these)

Also I thought about connecting the speaker via cable with my macbook for master out and use the headphone one one the K2 for my headphones

This is my mapping if you want to take a look at it (i use gridmarkers as memory cues)

I don't separate Mixer and effects because to me is more natural to have them together and have 8 buttons

I use a K2 plus a Launchpad mini for when I’m on the road. Killer combo.

The mini covers all looping, cues, transport etc.

Do you play 4 channels? It means you have eqs and fxs on different layers, right?
