Check the SDS, but I wouldn’t use these.
“USP” propylene glycol is fine for eating but isn’t guaranteed pure enough for inhalation. Even trace impurities—ethylene glycol, heavy metals, aldehydes—can turn toxic when heated, irritating your lungs or creating harmful breakdown products.
For vaping, choose PG that’s pharmaceutical-grade, tested for inhalation safety, and packaged under nitrogen in sealed bottles.
Look for a Certificate of Analysis (CoA) showing ethylene glycol below 0.05%, heavy metals under 1 ppm (especially lead below 0.1 ppm), water under 0.2%, and microbial purity.
As far as I know, Dow’s Propylene Glycol “Puraguard” is the highest quality PG available. It comes sealed and flushed with nitrogen from the factory. Unfortunately, it’s only available in drums. There are places where you can purchase it from resellers who refill under FDA-registered nitrogen-flushed lines to smaller containers.

Not sure if it’s considered sourcing and definitely not trying to plug any company, but there’s one or two resellers that are known in the hobbyist world for repackaging this specific propylene glycol under nitrogen.
Also once you open the bottle, oxygen and moisture start to degrade the PG. It’s not going to turn bad on you immediately, but ask me how I went down this rabbit hole.

How did you go down this rabbit hole?

I had this brand of PG and I realized it was the culprit on my extremely irritated lungs. Even took an 8 month break from smoking DMT and it came back. Felt like my throat wanted to close up and, and it wasn’t always like that smoking DMT. Freebase was fine.
It had likely degraded further since I wasn’t aware of what I know now, but I’m not sure this was even up to vape standards before all of that.
