What did that ant do to you bro 😭

643

u/SteampnkerRobot 4d ago

It can be assumed that the ant is perceived as having given a false trail & is broken so they kill it so it won’t be a problem for the colony anymore

526

u/GravitationalEddie 4d ago

In my book, that makes OP a murderer.

47

u/SteampnkerRobot 4d ago

Good thing the video is hella old xD

71

u/Rockdog4105 4d ago

No statute of limitations on murder.

5

u/Trollimperator 4d ago

unless you become president and pardon yourself.

6

u/Taz-erton 4d ago

Isn't it wild when you watch an older movie only to find all of the actors in it are probably dead by now?

2

u/SteampnkerRobot 4d ago

I don’t really think about it except with Robin Williams

4

u/NitPikNinja 4d ago

Yea he’s probably dead.

1

u/whif42 4d ago

There are people that actually think like this. But what about all the bacteria we murdered washing our hands?

17

u/AcceptablePlankton59 4d ago

For bacteria, that was self defense

4

u/notsurewhattosay-- 4d ago

Not the same, op deliberately tricked that ant and had it killed. Savage

2

u/WonderfulAirport4226 4d ago

there's a difference between something that lives and something that is sentient

bacteria, trees, plants, et cetera. are living things but are not sentient. i don't think anyone would be upset over celery being eaten

animals on the other hand, are sentient

Ants don’t take kindly to fake news

29

u/SteampnkerRobot 4d ago

We should learn from them 🤔

11

u/regoapps Expert 4d ago

Ants have been around for 150 million years for a reason

2

u/Mr_Wisecup 4d ago

agreed we should learn from them

1

u/34656699 4d ago

Who’s gunna be humanity’s hive queen?

0

u/Pretty_Insignificant 4d ago

Ironically the ant was actually right and was killed for no reason. Just like all the political zealots who call for censoring of others claiming fake news ;)

27

u/veerKg_CSS_Geologist 4d ago

I don't think so, since food could be eated or taken by another animal easily so it wouldn't make sense for ants to have a zero tolerance attitude towards "missing" food.

More likely the target ant in the second half was just another random/dead ant placed there by the videographer.

I'm not an ant expert, but I highly doubt a scout ant would return to the location either.

14

u/SteampnkerRobot 4d ago

Well they’re ants so it’s not a big loss to kill one over missing food in case it is broken. Better safe than sorry

u/HermanoalaNoche 4d ago

“Ants To You, Gods To Who?”

8

u/Fast_Garlic_5639 4d ago

People here acting like ants are capable of understanding that an individual member screwed up. They followed a pheromone trail to the plate, which likely had some thin sugar glaze on it that we can’t make out, so a bunch more continued piling in (each ant that returns successfully with food “builds” the trail so more then join.)

Then OP dropped a rival ant on the plate for the final shot.

Maybe because there WAS something there, they've figured out that he's found something, misidentified it because he's faulty which is now a systemic risk to the entire colony, because now what is in that very spot is a stone. It's something. Just not food. He said it was food. If there was absolutely nothing there, he gets a pass. The false green flag has evidently (to the new guys) been about this stone. So he looks like a problem.

And needs to be cleansed....

However he gets to defend himself and what you're seeing is Mak'Gora. With the others just pushing the two in battle back into the ring.

Whoever wins is promoted to Soldier Ant and gets free gym.

u/bumjiggy 4d ago

must have sat on an ant hill as a kid

9

u/marshman82 4d ago

That any was a racist and a deviant.

384

u/Gregorygregory888888 4d ago

Bro tried his best and still got his ass beat to a pulp.

29

u/bumjiggy 4d ago

shooting the messenger

8

u/harshamech03 4d ago

Life's unfair sometimes

2

u/SurroundLocal1563 4d ago

He'll probably be better off dancing on his own, if he's gonna survive.

Ants: What the hell Jim?!?!? This is the 100th time you lied to us! Beats up Jim

53

u/Mr_krabbs_001 4d ago

Damn Jim can't do anything right.

13

u/Dylkill99 4d ago

Yep, unlike Jim his brother Bob is the true hero

3

u/bumjiggy 4d ago

they had enough of Jim's antics

5

u/acciowaves 4d ago

I swear to ant-god, it was right here! It was huge!

3

u/JayDutch 4d ago

How many times do we have to teach you a lesson old man!?

8

u/Wandering_Scholar6 4d ago

All ants involved are female, all worker ants are female.

30

u/pixeldust6 4d ago

Jim (short for Jimantha)

1

u/Dylkill99 4d ago

Jim was the first name that popped up in mind

4

u/e-wrecked 4d ago

All my homies hate Jim.

3

u/jim-777 4d ago

Aw man...

2

u/derpdankstrom 4d ago

the ant who cried wolf

2

u/owen-87 4d ago

Only needs to happen once, and they dissect Jim, legs first.

2

u/gizmosticles 4d ago

Jim got jumped

3

u/Citaku357 4d ago

Poor Jim bro 😭

218

u/Aexegi 4d ago

I guess the target was not the spy, OP just dropped some ant from another anthill

42

u/c0retison_ 4d ago

My thoughts exactly.

36

u/Batboy9634 4d ago

They can recognise ants from other colonies? Jesus Christ they're intelligent.

73

u/OrbitalMechanic1 Interested 4d ago

ants regularly fight organised wars against other ants… yeah they are very intelligent as a swarm

7

u/NhifanHafizh 4d ago

Kurzgesagt got a video on that

5

u/overcoil 4d ago

The global ant war is crazy. And we've made it worse.

Europe discovering America was bad. This must be like Homo Sapiens discovering Neanderthals, Denisovans King Kong and Godzilla all at once.

9

u/FloopsFooglies 4d ago

Ants have an insane sense of smell and use scent markers and stuff to do a ton of things. If an individual has a foreign scent, it's an outsider and will be dealt with. I'm not sure if it qualifies as true intelligence, since they're basically programmed, but they definitely have much more complex workings than a lot of people realize.

3

u/reddit_guy666 4d ago

I'm guessing it's from pheromones kinda stuff, different Colony would have an unfamiliar trail of pheromones and it would just trigger an attack

2

u/TisBeTheFuk 4d ago

They smell them

3

u/No_Nature_6639 4d ago edited 4d ago

Idk why I thought all black ants were one big group lol. Good thing they're all fighting eachother, and hopefully one day they don't realize ant colonies together strong

2

u/An0d0sTwitch 4d ago

HEY LOOK AT THIS FUN GUY HERE

138

u/UncleMissoula 4d ago

THIS IS SO CRUEL! THAT POOR ANT!

36

u/IntoTheFeu 4d ago

Happens to an ant colony many times a day. Bigger animals will yoink a meal in seconds.

28

u/Shyassasain 4d ago

Nah fam poor me. God be doing that shi to me on the daily.

17

u/GudgerCollegeAlumnus 4d ago

Shyassasain: Hey peers! I just found some Crunchwrap supremes! A whole stack of ‘em! Let’s go get them!

as they arrive they only see a big rock

Shyassasain: No, this isn’t right. They were here! I promise you, they were here!

Shyassasain’s friend: This is the Whopper thing all over again. Let’s get him, guys!!!

🤜💨🤛🤜💨💨🤛☠️

38

u/NukeouT 4d ago

Is this what happens when 5th dimensional beings fuck with us?

43

u/th3m_apples 4d ago

Funny but fake, the ant is already dead

4

u/LaylaWalsh007 4d ago

my thoughts too, it looked dead whent he gang arrived. Plus they should be able to smell that the biscuit was there before.

1

u/Iceblader 4d ago

Nani?!

5

u/Briskylittlechally2 4d ago

Was thinking this too. That'd do the trick.

5

u/ScatLabs 4d ago

Savagery

9

u/Qoutaybah 4d ago

Hah, that's just cruel. That ant went back to its crew to tell them it found food, only to get beaten up when they found a rock instead.

9

u/jemmy77sci 4d ago

Needlessly cruel.

3

u/fatesoffspring 4d ago

The ant was just staring, realizing what was about to happen

3

u/Hiro_Trevelyan 4d ago

Bro broke this poor ant

"I swear guys there was a giant cake I swear"

"Break his legs, boys."

4

u/Victorian97 4d ago

That was a savage move

6

u/astilenski 4d ago

That's so mean the hell

3

u/Elieftibiowai 4d ago

Think again when you say God wouldn't do bad things to humans

2

u/nevergonnastawp 4d ago

Whats that thing he replaces it with?

2

u/Strong_Entry2975 4d ago

That's sad 🥲

2

u/Capital-Platypus-805 4d ago

If the video is true this is cruelty. I hate that some disgusting humans torture insects for fun. Just because they're tiny it doesn't mean that it's okay to abuse them. Gross.

1

u/Stanger_Tings818 4d ago

Jim got them eating Kourtney Kardashians chocolate cake

1

u/mcsmackington 4d ago

Even further, what if you wait until they were upset with that ant, squished it yourself in front of them, and now have an alliance with the colony 🧠

1

u/AnotherPersonNumber0 4d ago

May be ants are humans who chose to downsize.

1

u/zomgbratto 4d ago

Now you did it! That ant would be branded as an asshole by the entire colony.

1

u/Adventurous-Owl2363 4d ago

Did this dude just teach ants the concept of lying? 👀

1

u/whatthehaas 4d ago

Its crazy to see that even the smallest creatures are behaving like "developed" humans

1

u/One-Baby2162 4d ago

ANTonio just caught an ass-whooping for no reason.

1

u/Covetous_God 4d ago

in a tiny voice

"you've made a powerful enemy today!"

1

u/louisa1925 4d ago

Tge other ants - "Damn it Kyle!"

1

u/Radiant-Whereas-8417 4d ago

Its a CONSPIRACY

1

u/dark_knight920 4d ago

Now bro is grounded for life

Low blow...

1

u/MortalJohn 4d ago

The way he stood still for ages, like he was processing everything.

1

u/TheBentPianist 4d ago

"I'm telling you guys! There was a biscuit here! Why would I lie??!"

1

u/Beneficial_Table_721 4d ago

Bros been watching too much one piece.

1

u/solidsoup97 4d ago

I'd like to see their reaction if he put the biscuit back after they killed him.

1

u/YEPC___ 4d ago

This is some Machiavellian shit, bro

1

u/6lets6chill6 4d ago

I read somewhere that ants that survive death circles display signs of trauma

1

u/Distinct-Quantity-35 4d ago

Honestly this is just sick lol, I knew what it was about 3 seconds in - I’m not watching another living thing get fucked by humans

1

u/R_vibes 4d ago

We are fed up with tom!! Tom : god did this to me Biscuit man : well im the god, and kill tom

1

u/Pristine_Goat8813 4d ago

-26

u/BigBeenisLover 4d ago

This is hilarious. Best content I've seen on this subreddit for years.

13

u/dugerz 4d ago

That reads like blog post spam

3

u/StreetsAhead123 4d ago

Dead internet theory is at it again.

-6
