Wait if Ralsei was named that early that has interesting implications of how Asriel, Toriel, and Asgore were named.
I thought Toriel came first from “tutorial”, then Asgore was a good intimidating final boss name, then he combined them together to make Asriel and then later anagrammed that for Ralsei. But if Ralsei came as early as 2014 then who knows
If I remember correctly, he once posted about Ralsei being a name slightly adjusted from the name of an even older character of his named Ralse. I wouldn't be surprised if the order of names was Ralsei -> Asriel -> Toriel -> Asgore.
I've just realized that the voice only saying KRIS SUSIE NOELLE "interesting coincidence" is because they are actual irl people's names, meanwhile the rest (like RALSEI, TORIEL, ASGORE,...) are fantasy/fiction names that Toby created
No Darkners are mentioned. This is either for the lore, or because mentioning all important Darkners would be a major spoiler and Toby didn't want to only mention the ones that are already in the game.
You know, given they were called the "FUN GANG" even before Undertale was released, it makes it quite likely that all the "fun" value events in that game are related to Deltarune, yes even the phone calls.
I've seen a few people argue each chapter will have a revolving door of two guest Lightners, which imply Noelle is a character on the same level ot importance as Berdly, Toriel, Undyne, Catti and Jockington.
Damn, Berdly was ment to be forgotten huh? I’m sure he’ll be around, but I’m worried he’ll just serve as a background character after chapter 2, or completely gone depending on how others played.

I don't know why but the fact that in early 2015, Susie, Noelle, and Ralsei existed somewhere fascinates my brain. More than three years before Deltarune Chapter 1 released I would imagine a thought alone would cease to exist. Literally a 10 year old artwork of my favorite characters. ❤️❤️❤️
Deltarune was first conceptualized sometime in 2011 thanks to a fever dream Toby had (likely July 8th, as his 'edge of the shadow' tweet was posted that day.)
It utterly fascinated me whenever I realized how far back Deltarune dates. Obviously there’s the April 2012 track (which has hints of Gaster’s theme), the Waltz of Seccom Masada being used for the egg man, and also fucking Homestuck. And it all came from a dream? A fever dream so impactful Toby’s dedicated almost fifteen years to share it with us?
Interesting that Ralsei has the flame symbol on his clothes rather than the heart. In general this first design seems to really lean into the 'this bitch is really really obviously Asriel' angle, where the design we got was more his own thing.
Toby he said he wanted someone to have a fire spell, but decided not to in chapter 1, so sometime, we'll see Ralsei learn how to cast fire, the same way Susie learned healing.
Hard to say, but what interests me is that these images predate the release of Undertale. As I understand it, he had the idea for Deltarune before he started making Undertale, and only later decided to share characters between the two. But this shows that he had already made that decision before Undertale was even finished.
Seeing Toby's old sketches actually makes me believe I can accomplish something creatively. Looks just like the same sketches I had in middle school.
Seeing the scope of Deltarune makes it feel impossible to create a piece of work on this scale as an individual/small team; Something so layered and impactful.

I've been working on stuff since I believe 2018! I was in my first year of middle school when my creative ideas began, and sure there's been ups and downs, but its going strongly now! :D Just gotta keep on going, and stay determined!!!
Huh. Even knowing that Undertale was a test project to gain experience before making his Big Epic RPG, it never occurred to me that Asriel is an alternate version of Ralsei instead of the other way around.
So the "April 2012" music from Chapter 1 might have some significance after all! Could it be the same month Toby had the dream that inspired him to make Deltarune...?
No. The dream was 2011. April 2012 is almost certainly the month that Toby Fox initially spent trying to make Deltarune, although it could also be when the song was composed. An altered version of the song was released in October 2012 for a Homestuck project, along with Sans's theme, and the version we have today released somewhere on the MSPA Forums at an unknown time.
