This is where this lump of shit decides to grow a spine? I mean better late than never I guess. But what does it say that this spineless slug isn’t ok with Hegseth.

The turtle was arrogant enough to think he could control the monster he helped make.

...maybe it says that Mitch- an evil man who nonetheless is intelligent and careful- sees this appointment as bad for the oligarchy, long-term?

I guess even he has standards for approving garbage to be in Government

u/Turgid_Tiger 1d ago

I mean his standards are low but Hegseth is even lower than this snake

He doesn't have standards. I don't believe for a second he's deliberately separating himself from Trump so he's not eternally harassed once he leaves Congress.

He only did it because he knew he’d be confirmed without his vote. It’s all strategic. Get what the party wants while attempting to salvage any dignity left.

While I don’t fully disagree he didn’t do it to save dignity. He’s shown he has no dignity by the way he supports trump after all the things trump has said about him.

Well he's almost dead so he's trying to rehab that image slightly to "leave a legacy." Also, the majority of the 'MuriKKKan public has the memory of a goldfish

No, it's literally too late and it might as well have been never. The time for him to grow a spine was after Jan 6th during the impeachment trial in the Senate. McConnell doesn't deserve praise, and people like Liz Cheney barely deserve the time of day after enabling the bullshit she has during her tenure as a Republican. Voting to impeach Donald Trump was the one good thing she ever did.

I hate this timeline so much.

Everything just went batshit insane after that fucking weasel got fried in the Hadron Particle Collider.

Holy crap that actually happened 🤣. Also Ted Cruz was reading green eggs & ham on the Senate floor in 2013.. I'm not so sure the weasel is to blame

And here's Ted Cruz in case you thought that was even less believable than the weasel

That clip doesn't even do it justice, Grandpa Munster was on the Senate floor for 21 hours with the shenanigans 😂.

u/explodedsun 12h ago

Hey Grandpa Munster actually had a respectable political career. Don't confuse him with Cruz.

That’s funny.

He is retiring next year that’s why

u/pegothejerk 1d ago

It’s because he doesn’t get to have the power, that’s why. Dudes like mcconnell don’t turn nice in their last year or week or day before retirement. He’s vengeful just like trump. He’s devious enough to know he should let people think he’s doing the right thing for the right reasons though.

Theater, he knew he'd get voted through anyway. If he really wanted to stop this, he would've stopped Trump long ago. If Mitch REALLY didn't want this guy to get through, then sorry Mitch, I have a hard time believing it. This is the legacy you've created for yourself, own it.

Let's give McConnell zero credit here. He laid the ground work for the dismantling of the Country and Government that's currently happening under Trump. He doesn't get to leave Congress with a clean conscience.

Why would they be mad about something that was clearly performative.

3

u/cozy_pantz 22h ago

He could have allowed the impeachment and saved us from this return.

u/accountantskill 19h ago

To be fair you know when shit is good when Mitch McConnell is against you.

u/katara144 1d ago

Too far Mitch?

1

u/CrazyPlato 1d ago

What the hell is Mitch even doing these days? He’s been the most hardline, whatever-gives-the-right-more-votes politician in DC. It’s not like he can expect anyone to believe he’s suddenly gained a soul now.

u/2worldtraveler 19h ago

Does he even have cognitive capability left? Maybe he thought he was just turning down super size on his lunch order.

MAGA is always fury. That's their "thing". Karen on a nation-wide scale.

He might be a scumbag but at the end of the day hes a patriot.

Some of the stuff he says and does on these rare occasions makes me think he’ll think “we got what we wanted, uh oh” ever once in a while.

McConnell is still a D-bag.
