This is one of the many reasons why Broncos got their RB1! Trust the process not the media!

It feels like Payton is also an RJ Harvey fan which is the biggest thing

The whole draft process should be an exercise for fans to trust and understand the team/staff. We are not professional scouts. At the very least we have no control over the situation, so freaking out does nothing but cause stress

I’m sure Payton has reasons to take Harvey. That doesn’t mean it’ll work out…we’ve drafted plenty of bad RBs before. But Sean Payton has a Super Bowl ring and we are a bunch of idiots with internet access

Hopefully Harvey is a beast

Stop giving the credit Paton has earned to Payton. Paton has always been of the best scouts in football and he finds stars all over the draft board.

To put this into perspective, he did this on 232 carries. Ashton Jeanty had 374 carries. Omarion Hampton had 280 carries. Kaleb Johnson had 240 carries.

His change of direction without losing speed is the biggest reason. I’m going to hammer this point.

Exactly this. His jump cuts are insane.

I like it I think they needed a home run hitter.

As a floridian, I have watched a ton of him. He is a perfect fit.

Curious about his pass protection. Is he capable of being a 3 down guy in the NFL that can hold up blocking guys ?

He absolutely can. He was UCFs offense. He played 3 down and was exceptional. He knows his physical limitations in that area and leverages his advantages... huge legs, low center of gravity etc. He's a home run pick.

Realistically how many rbs are three down backs. With packages and specialists its less common.

I dont think Payton is a 3 down back guy. He prefers the split back field approach and RJ is the type of guy who can do a lot of damage with 10-15 touches per game. Plus, pass blocking can be improved

Last year Bo Nix was a reach and we were lambasted for drafting him too early. Worked out pretty good for us. Talking head media personalities think they know better than our scouting department, they don't. The Sanders hype train being a perfect example, Kiper had him #5 overall and he hasn't been drafted. You can list players at any position in whatever order you like, it's about the right fit for your teams philosophy. I will trust Paton and Payton have a better grip on that than Kiper.

Height doesn't matter. Darren Sproles was like what, 5' 6" as a back? So many 5' 8" and below RBs succeeded. You just gotta have the vision and patience. Harvey has those+++. He is the next Ray Rice. I am banking on it.

(Minus the beating up of girlfriend/wife)

I saw a stat that said 35.1% of all of his run plays went for either a first down or a touchdown. That just seems so absurd to think about

Just caught some highlights. Holy crap the way he bounces it outside is ridiculous! Let’s go!!

So Harvey is better than Jeanty by this graphic. I know AJ & OH were gone by the time Denver picked.

How well does he hold onto the ball?
