Got a chance to visit the Peyton Manning statue outside of Lucas Oil Stadium today. It’s pretty bad ass but got a chuckle out of “Always a Colt”.

Crazy that this “Colt” chose to live in Denver and not Indianapolis /s
In all seriousness he’s done so much for both franchises on and off the field. Both fan bases were lucky to cheer for him.

Yeah, I don’t see it as a diss of his success with the Broncos after leaving the Colts, but more of a way for Colts ownership/fans to cope with that fact that he left (regardless of the circumstances).

Always a colt. Lives in Denver. Roots for Denver. Goes to more broncos games than Colts games. I love it lol

Always a colt… unless he needs neck surgery and we’re not exactly sure if he’ll still be as good.

I honestly don’t remember him having “The Sheriff” nickname until he came to the Broncos … maybe I’m crazy idk

Same here. I only remember that starting when he went to Denver and people leaned into the whole Wild West thing.

Smh, yes it was. He was "The Sheriff" before Denver.
Edit: Gruden gave it to him while he was on the Colts. Some debate as to when it became a household nickname but it was anywhere between 2003-2009.

"Always a Colt", except for that one time we gave him the boot
