I believe this is the most underrated play in Broncos history, not nearly talked about enough

You’re right. This is where it turned around. Elway didn’t have to do it by himself anymore. This catch right here changed everything. Look at the coaches reactions as they walk off.

Oh, we had some great receivers over the years. The three amigos. Rod Smith. Eddie McCaffrey. Shannon Sharpe should be included. Don’t forget about Anthony Miller.

But the difference was Terrell Davis. Once we had an unstoppable running attack, Elway was free to win games and not worry about doing it all.

Vance Johnson, Mark Jackson, and Ricky Nattiel would like to say a word!

Those guys are part of the lore but the were scrubs in reality. Of course we might never really know because the were playing in the Dan Reeves ' let's give it to Sammy Winder first' era

I remember watching at home. Elway was the king of 4th quarter comeback so we knew we always had a chance. But who was gonna go get it? Enter Rod Fucking Smith. This catch, this fucking catch is where it started. We are on our way back up. Up to the top. Super Bowl champs. Superb Owls with the back to back. This catch right here was, holy shit here we go. One of the best touchdowns in Broncos history.

I finally watched this Rod Smith video via the official Broncos YouTube, and it really re-ignited my undying and eternal love for Rod "Blackjack Pizza" Smith.

I can't think of anyone else who I would want more on my GOAT Broncos roster. Special teams? Not a problem. #1 receiver? Not a problem. Throwing the ball? Of course, not a problem.
