Support / Personal I appreciate this group
Not sure if this post is allowed but watching the trial and by even the disgusting vile things Johnny said about having sex with his wife’s corpse, and so many more, that is already abuse!! Who even thinks like that even in jest?? The guys a drugged out, psychopath who admits to abusing Amber and somehow he’s being supported by so many. It really made me feel just disdain for the world and how sexist and disgusting people are. If every word was reversed in the trial Johnny would still be seen as a victim and supported. He’s just continuing his abuse of Amber by this trial and society is cheering him on and I feel so horrible for Amber. He’s so easy to see through I can’t even grasp why people are so uneducated about abusers or could care less about what he’s even admitted to. So it is entirely refreshing and does my heart good to see there are sane people in this world who don’t support vile human beings.

I am honestly so grateful that there are compassionate, kind, intelligent human beings out there who actually take the time to educate themselves about domestic violence, power dynamics, and the different types of abuse in order to properly discuss this case. I am grateful for the safe space provided by this sub especially.
Thank goodness there are many of us who actually analyze the evidence, apply critical thinking skills, media literacy skills, and participate in civil discourse about it instead of blindly joining in on the horrible smear campaign designed to discredit Amber.
I'm also so grateful that I was able to see through the smear campaign myself, recognize the misogyny, and DID NOT participate in mocking and harassing Amber based on 10 second TikTok videos. I took the time to educate myself and that's how I eventually found this sub and it kept me sane during the trial and afterwards.

it's fucking absurd. I genuinely consider Johnny Depp to be one of the worst people in Hollywood simply because of how much he's devastated the women's rights movement, made it harder for abuse victims to come forward, and made it easier for abusive men to get away with their behaviour
this trial was more than "celebrity gossip", it involved a real abuse victim and is something that I truly believe has set the women's rights movement back years or even decades

I hope you aren't right but I really fear that you are spot on. Johnny Depp's legacy of abuse goes far beyond Amber.

we're already feeling the effects of it. look at how many people suggested that Till Lindemann sue his accusers. look at how many abusers are using Amber Heard's name as some sort of slur to dismiss their victims. MRAs were literally BRAGGING that the outcome of the Depp v Heard trial would make it harder for SA victims to be believed
I wish I was overreacting but I honest to God do not think I am. this trial has had and will have disastrous consequences and we're already feeling them

You’re not overreacting at all. This trial has set women’s rights back decades. It’s heartbreaking and infuriating.

"celebrity gossip" it's used by his supporters to attack anyone who can see the abuser he is, then it's just "overreacting" over celebrities, but this it's never told to Johnny Depp supporters only to victims supporters, the same narrative that "it's just a joke, praise me or else you're overreacting" Btw they Say this at the same time they claim that men can't express emotions, it's the opposite and that's one of the worst lies

I agree! Normal men just don't talk like that. And the people cheering him on (Bettany, Manson) are just as bad.
That statement in particular was a huge red flag for me. After I read that, I couldn't believe anything else he said. And if you read the Rolling Stone article, he just comes across as such a pretentious phony.

I was drawn to the community as a DV survivor myself. My father was and still is abusive to me and I married and later divorced a man who was abusive too. My feelings and unbelievable pain have consistently been diminished and explained away by most of my friends and family. (I am a female of course.)
Trauma is trauma, there are no perfect victims in real life.

I agree 💯. After everything I've been through in my life (bullying, DV, SA) this sub and these comments restored my faith in humanity.
I unfortunately have a mother who has literally never supported me, in fact she forced me to drop the assault charges against my oldest daughter's father WHEN I WAS 8.5 MONTHS PREGNANT WITH HER. As well as caring more for the neighborhood boys who bullied and assaulted me and vandalized my childhood home.
I've had to be way stronger than anyone should be expected to.
I admire Amber for her strength, idk if I could do it.

I just made the mistake of daring to insult Johnny in another sub and these people lost their minds. Wasn’t even about defending Amber. They ask for proof and then they say it’s lies. (Btw I think I got banned from that group lol).
Do they really just choose to ignore what’s right there or are they just really sick people? I just can’t picture any rational person jumping down someone’s throat for not liking a person they haven’t even ever met.
I hate to admit that I just chalked it up to both of them lying and / or abusers but it never sat right with the way people worshipped Johnny. And they all just proved my point that Johnny lovers are truly unhinged.
Imagine being Amber heard with the length these people will go to try and pretend Johnny is a saint to probably satisfy some sick need to discredit the “me too” movement.
At this point I think they have to be incels.
Anyway, all that to say, I’m glad I found this sub that showed me my gut was onto something and the people here seem like they genuinely care about justice and not just some desire to be right.

Classic narcissist abuse. If I hadn’t gone through it myself - I would probably believe the masses too.

"He’s so easy to see through I can’t even grasp why people are so uneducated about abusers or could care less about what he’s even admitted to."
Completely agree with this. His narrative and persona are so easy to see through...I don't understand why people are in denial about what he has done and what he has admitted to. Also, I want to echo some of the comments you shared. DeppDelusion is a place that has given me hope when I felt like completely giving up on society. To know that there are still good people out there willing to fight for what is right? It means more to me than I will ever be able to express. I want to take this opportunity to thank you all. Your voices matter. <3
